Hey folks!! I have a 2022 XLT EB FX4 with 4K tow. I had a 2018 iNTech Flyer Pursue that I towed with my Mav. The girlfriend and I wanted to move up just a tad to something that had a bathroom etc. We opted for a 2020 Lance 1475 S. We have had it out a couple of times and the Mav does Okish, but does seem to struggle at times. The trailer has a sticker in the door jam stating the weight of 3200lbs. We probably have 500lbs max cargo in the trailer. So trailer and gear is like 3700lbs max. I started googling and such and now have created some paranoia after buying the trailer. I also feel nervous being so close to the 4k tow max on the Mav.
On the two shake down trips the first one we got like 16mpg and on the second trip we were at like 10.9mpg. On the second trip it was insanely windy so I am assuming that is what caused the drop in mpg from the first trip. No overheating etc. The temp gauge was rock solid at 4 tick marks on both trips. One thing I did notice is that I could never get the trailer tires to lock-up when setting up the brake controller. So right now I just have it maxed at 10.
Can anyone provide me some feedback to help me get clarity? I almost feel more confused about GVWR, GCWR, tongue weight, etc..... Thanks for reading.
