2.0 EcoBoost Performance Tunes?

Well to be fair that is a full year of more development for the Cobb than Livernois. After owning some long term that’s not apples to apples. Would be neat to update the lms and run them back to back.
Who did your tune? Randy Robles was the tuner for montune and is a great Cobb tuner.
You are correct having options is alway great or we wouldn’t get updates.

I have an Accessport Maverick OTS tune setup....I think there are like 5 tuning options in the accessport. Plus you can change accelerator, tire size and auto on/off settings outside of the actual programming.
I also have a LMS MyCalibrator with a single Maverick tune. They told me that is all they have and didn't plan on taking things further with the Maverick. I don't care for the LMS tuning for the Maverick.

Well I can say that’s simply wrong. I have multiple times form them currently so saying they one have one is false. Saying they didn’t plan to go farther is simply false or a lie. They have never done just one time and walked away. Hell they are still making updates for 2013 SHO.
Yes you can make small changes to throttle input but our drive modes also do that. You can also have them set to your desired preferences. Plus Cobb Dow not offer multi octane tunes, launch control, or have the ability to access nearly as many codes in the ecu as Livernois. Hence why I stopped using Cobb. They didn’t have the ability to get deep enough into the ecu to do actual flex fuel tuning. This was also backed up by montune at the time.

Nothing wrong with Cobb if one goes that way. But we have to be open about comparisons. The simple fact that you are using a access port it’s tune that is on probably the 20th update vs the first update from a competitor is a problem. If we did that one could says the worst part of the maverick was the shifting. Lms was able to adjust that at one point and cobb Could not.
So your user comparison is screwed to start.
Plus looking at dyno results the it’s maps for the two are not in the same ballpark. It’s been that way over every ecoboost they do. It’s kinda the safety net Cobb has and allows places like panda to make huge gains.

Now a dialed in panda or tunewerks tune I would believe would be very very good.

I was only thinking for the sand dunes. I literally start every race a full truck behind and have to play catch up. Most people are still shocked which kinda makes me want to have launch control for that. But if I do that I may as well go full e85 and be able to just it all on the steering wheel. I have both features on my f-150 with the 3.5 and the tune selection and the e content on the wheels is Awsome.

I can quickly move to valet mode without anyone knowing.
I heard they eventually got to flex fuel also with the proper supporting mods on the focuses.
But that’s my point. Papa mark is making a definitive statement that the Cobb it’s is better than his lms tune. But his lms tune was the first rendition of that tune. Would be like saying Cobb suck after trying the first tune they released. They didn’t even tune the trans which is the best part of the tunes.
So he never asked for updates? He simply ordered a whole new tuner?
and that with the fact he said Livernois told him they were not gonna go any farther with the maverick? I call bull sh!t.

Knowing that one of the main guys at that shop has one. Zero chance they would do an early tune and never do anything else. I’ve honestly have never heard a single tuner ever say that. Not once.

If he truly has both why would you spend the extra money on a whole new tuner setup instead of asking for another update or pay for a custom tune? Still cheaper. Non of his post makes sense.
He could have added multi Oct tunes, launch control, and e content tunes for less than the new Cobb unit with its tunes on it. Especially it not like it took them years to add that. They rolled that out very early soon after the first tunes came out for the 22’s. The timeline on when they posted that stuff online shows all that was out probably well before he bought his Cobb.

The vehicle I sold in order to by the Maverick was a WRX and I went with Cobb because that place is well known for its work on Subaru turbos. The process was simple and the accessport had plenty of options. The 93-octane tune was obviously adding more power but it was nothing really WOW inspiring.

Still, almost 10 months later I have my Livernois tuner in my truck waiting for it to go on. I was going to wait until the first year and inspection but that has passed and I don't know why I haven't done it yet. With the Ecoboost, I felt comfortable with Livernois as they seem well schooled in that platform and the results seem to affirm my thoughts. I will also say with Cobb,, I didn't have to update anything unlike the LV which made me go through a process just to get the tunes which I found perfectly fine.

I went another 300k miles using the 93 tow tune everytime I towed.
now I go deep right from the start.
Tell them what I want and they make it happen.

Ahhh yes absolutely no need. Well other than the fact that these trucks make more power and trq than the 90’s 1/2 tons. Didn’t stop anyone from chasing more power.
Oh wait! Or the fact most the 3-4 cylinder hot hatches and sports cars with a simple tune beat the v8 cars.
But let’s not let facts get into the way of people knowing what they want or having fun.

The restraint I have exercised is unbelievable and I blame it on the OTC tune on my last WRX. Rationally speaking though, the problems with that vehicle (caused me to sell it at 9300 miles) had nothing to do with a tune as I look back upon it sensibly and objectively.

I asked them if it was safe and they said yes. If anything it will just say it cannot communicate. As someone who had their ECU bricked on their WRX once I'd rather not do that with this truck haha.

Why would it Brick it.

It should just tell you it can see the ecu or it won’t.
Shouldn’t affect anything unless you actually try and download it.
Curious if the 25 can be tuned or not.
I for one don’t worry about tuning. But I see why others would choose not to. Everyone is in different spots and that ok.

I am curious though, if these can be tuned and have port injection we should be able to tune for straight e85 which would be a huge advantage on these. Not for power as I bet nothing is gained after e30 but for longevity of the engine.
Heat kills and e85 is cool

Merely plugging it into the OBDII and powering it on shouldn't cause any problems. You have to give input to elicit a response.

Those Accessports are almost idiot proof. Not saying you are an idiot, of course.
