Yes, probably be on temu next year fo $50Price will drop drastically as used screens start showing up on Ebay. I had a Flex with Sync 2 and the first people that offered Sync 3 upgrades were charging a fortune. Within a year you could do the grade for a fraction of the price.
BooyahI found this today. (brace for sticker shock!)
SYNC 4 upgrade
Has anyone had a vehicle with SYNC 4? What improvements does it have over SYNC 3? Is 4 as buggy as 3?
Thanks for any feedback!

I had Sync 4 in my Ford 21 Mustang Mach-E, Loved it! But required a lot of updates to maintain. I'm wondering if the updates will be delivered to the Vehicle thru FDRS as it improves. That's my only worry. I did my own programming on the Mach-E (See profile photo). That can get pretty costly ($900 per year) for license (FDRS). Also if it's installed does that void the vehicle warranty for existing equipment. Lots of questions with no answers! Dealers hate this kinda of stuff, beware!I found this today. If this worked, it would be like jailbraking your phone. You'll be responsible for all software updates. At best your buying hardware that is suppose to work and a working OS. After that you'll be on your own.I had Sync 4 in my Ford 21 Mustang Mach-E, Loved it! But required a lot of updates to maintain. Why, Sync upgrades have been happening since 3 came out.I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but this screams scam to me.
I agree with you. If Crutchfield comes up with a custom harness and aftermarket head unit combo for the Maverick, I might do it. Did it in my 2015 Prius and is was so much better than the stock unit.I'd much rather have one of the metra dash kits and install one of Kenwood's head units or an Alpine. I put a Kenwood excelon head unit in my 2012 XLT and that thing did so much more than the sync garbage. I was able to add a OEM Ford logo backup camera and it worked, and I could turn it on anytime I wanted to I could also see all the gauges be it RPMs, oil pressure, tire pressure, you name it.
Plus play DVDs for the kids in the car. The Kenwood head unit was almost limitless, Plus it had Garmin navigation with split screen view. Plus it cost me only 650.00 for a refurbished 1199.99 unit, so right around $1,000 for everything including the OEM style backup camera from the camera source that included the guidelines in it. There was also another camera hookup for a front camera as well.

I tried that with another car. Believe it or not, most tablets can't take nearly as much heat as a car head unit or aftermarket units. The tablet will tell you "I'm too hot now, so I'm shutting down."LOL just buy a tablet and mount it in front of your screen for half the price
Yeah, no thanks!I found this today. (brace for sticker shock!)
