PINPOINT TEST B: THE AC OUTLET LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) INDICATOR IS NEVER ON

Possible Causes
• Fuse(s)
• direct current/alternating current (DC/AC) inverter
• AC Outlet
• Wiring, terminals or connectors

Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
• Verify the BCM Fuse 6 (10A) is OK.
• Verify the BJB fuse 36 (60A) is OK.
• Inspect the AC outlet for damage.

NOTE: The DC/AC inverter will cease AC output if there is a fault on the LEDs in the outlet or if the LED is not detected as present.
Loose harness connector, faulty outlet LED feedback can cause.

As others have stated it sits directly below the console but you have to remove the entire thing if I remember correctly it was a total of six bolts and you'll also have to pull the panel w/ the USB ports & 12V port above the front console tray under HVAC controls to access two of the smaller bolts. there's also a large wire harness to disconnect the front.

I remove my console when I installed my ambient lighting kit in the footwells cup holders and rear of console.

A similar thing happened with my '23 Mav. No power or lights on either inside or outside sockets. Took it to the dealer and they replaced both sockets under warranty. The inverter itself was fine.

If you scan it & the dc to ac inverter will give you a code as to what socket is causing the problem.
Cant say I ever replace an faulty inverter other than ones damaged from water leaks

I think the dealers make a lot of money on their initial evaluation (as the OP mentioned) and assessment charges no matter what the problem being experienced is. That comes first and then the actual repair cost (parts, labor, fees, tax) comes second for the final knock out!

I have a 2022 Maverick. As is would happen soon after my factory warranty expired my 110 outlets stopped working. I checked the fuse it was fine. I changed it anyway. Spoke to the dealership and they said it would be $180 just to evaluate the issue. As I don't use them and the USB ports work, I said no.

Question - Where is the inverter located? Is is hard to get to? and Is this a DIY replacement? Any thoughts folks?

Thanks Ed
