Hybrid Santa Cruz
Unfortunately, the hybrid version won't likely be around until 2025 or so, according to this article (which cites multiple Hyundai corporate statements).I had no Idea the Santa Cruz was Manufactured in
Montgomery, Alabama
I am going to take a hard look at it. I do Have Two Mav on Order, But If My Ranger Dies I will need something to haul feed in. I belive I can flip the SC or one of the Mavs and break even on it. I can hold as long as the 05 Ranger is alive. If it goes belly up it turns into a Business decision

Yep, which is why I see them more than the Maverick. Still want a Maverick as I don't care much for the Hyundai interior despite my penchant for wanting to support in-state jobs.I had no Idea the Santa Cruz was Manufactured in

The Maverick exterior is also so much better looking than the SC, in my opinion. Mav looks like a little truck, SC looks like an SUV that had the back portion cut off. But the now 15 months (and counting) of wild-initial-enthusiasm-turned-to-exasperation with the whole purchase process for the Mav is making any possible competitor sound very appealing.Yep, which is why I see them more than the Maverick. I could ALMOST stomach the crappy MPG(looked it up, it's basically the same as my 2008 Ranger!), but what's really stopping me from owning one is I can't find a base model - anywhere. I still think Hyundai producing only the mid and high levels was a huge tactical error on their part. If they'd put a ton of base models out there, as the Mav debacle ensued, they have had a lot more Mav orders jumping ship. The Maverick exterior is also so much better looking than the SC, in my opinion. The uber-crappy MPG on the SC is really the only deal-breaker for me at this point, and this from a person who was utterly turned off by their appearance just 12 months ago.
I think part of the issue is the SC isn't the only thing built in Montgomery. So, the top of the line models maximize profits for the line as even Hyundai isn't exactly sitting on the things right now.I could ALMOST stomach the crappy MPG(looked it up, it's basically the same as my 2008 Ranger!), but what's really stopping me from owning one is I can't find a base model - anywhere. Congrats on getting something, and glad you like it! I can't bring myself to pay the ADM on a cancelled order, especially after waiting this long. We'll see what happens.Al,
Last fall I urged you to keep the faith on your Maverick order. However, my October 20, 2021 order for a XLT Hybrid is not even scheduled at this time. So, on January 2nd I bought a XLT EB, Hot Pepper RED, All wheel drive, 4k tow package, etc. that I found in Fredericksburg. We just drove it to Florida. So far, I love it. So, you may finally decide to bail out and find one at a dealer to reduce the frustration.
Peace,
Lucky B.
Ford sold double the number of Mavericks versus Santa Cruz's last year.Yep, which is why I see them more than the Maverick. Still want a Maverick as I don't care much for the Hyundai interior despite my penchant for wanting to support in-state jobs.
Yep, but Ford's factory isn't 15 miles from my house.Ford sold double the number of Mavericks versus Santa Cruz's last year.
Thank you for your help. I went to the dealer and they removed the spray in bed liner and set it to priority 10! hopefully I will get scheduled soon.490, wow, that's early-mid September 2021! Have you checked your Priority Code with Ford Chat? Because @fordvideoguy mentioned (in his video this week) that there were still a fair number (456!) of rollover orders at Priority Code 99, which means they'll never get considered for scheduling. It also means the dealers associated with those orders still need to move them down to Priority 10-19.
