It's on the lot (wife and I did the slow drive-by), but they had a ton of new vehicles dropped off at the same time. So, it isn't "on the lot" per my salesman. Still needs to go through the final prep and it is in line. He hopes no later than tomorrow morning.

Impeccable timing as I just returned home from being out of town for several days. Wife and I had to quickly remove the beach from the F-150 loaner...

In the meantime, I told the salesman to figure out the Explorer, given it is technically "used" now. But given I have put 0 miles on it, I don't want that biting me for a vehicle Ford still doesn't know how to fix.

Update: and it bit. Ford wants me to eat $16,000 of the Explorer. I told him no. I will take the Escape down this afternoon and see what they offer. Otherwise, someone else is going to get a very nice Maverick real soon...

And truck is home! Wife was sentimental about the Escape leaving, but she is excited the Explorer will eventually be hers.

Mav is here; they have LineX scheduled to do the bedliner Friday and they are installing a bedcover Monday, so should be picking it up Tuesday.

Taking delivery was a success; as advertised, no funny business, no alterations from what was agreed upon in September, MSRP from the window sticker plus LineX bedliner and Ford soft rollup bed cover installed at the dealer, $180 doc fee, sales tax, and reg. Only had to say no once to the Zurich service plan, I am going to get the official Ford plan through Grainger. This was Deery Brothers Ford in Iowa City. Pat was the Internet Sales Rep I worked with and Jerry was the finance manager. I would go back to them for another vehicle in the future.

Inaugural run 200mi hwy 38 mpg. 10mi city commute to work this morning 54mpg.

Coming from a base 2015 Chevy Sonic and 2001 s10, the slate of features feels down right luxurious to me. I did not know I needed Carplay in my life until I used it. I already couldn't live without. Ford Sync seems atrocious.

I took the sliding rear window because it reminded me of rides in the pickup as a kid; however with the supercab I can't reach it from the drivers seat so it is not that useful, and it blocks a fair amount of the rear view which is already pretty mediocre. I think it is fine Ford dropped this option going forward.

I hope to learn more about sport, eco, normal modes. I can definetly feel the different throttle response between the three modes, and it seems like both eco and sport increase regenerative braking when off the gas pedal. Unsure of other differences yet.

Well my truck is officially off the train and set to be delivered beginning of next week. Lets hope for no more delays
