@Bingisser
I can't say that is anything I've heard of!!
Sounds like you are still unscheduled. Once you are scheduled you'll get a VIN.
"pulling parts" to me sounds just like waiting to be scheduled w/ constrained options!
My CEL went on and off..... the part kept getting delayed and delayed. CEL has been off for a while....so I cancelled the part order. If it CEL for that issue returns next winter, I'll deal w/ it then!
@paytonlb999 It is certainly possible that you are being sent the wrong window sticker due to a mix-up? Does the VIN on the window sticker match the VIN associated with your order? Maybe you were simply sent the windowsticker for another vehicle. Or the dealer messed up and swapped your email...
Maybe they are waiting for parts. Maybe they know information that I don't know. Or maybe they found out that it took their techs 4-5 hours to complete a recall that only pays 2 hours, and they are not enthusiastic about taking on any more! (my suspicion would be the latter)
If Ford does...
Hmmm....I work at a dealership (and deal with the warranty claims). I don't see any update to FSA 22C20. I looked up the airbag parts in Ford's parts system. Parts are available. No notes about the part being replaced.
So unless your dealer is getting information before Ford broadcasts it to...
The recall pays 2 hours..... it usually takes longer than that (at most dealerships). Looks like the mobile repair team had two people. That could certainly speed things up.
If it is a "DIO", and listed on the window sticker, then Ford pays the dealer to install. You shouldn't be paying anything extra.
If you ordered accessories from the dealer (that are not included on the window sticker), then you may have to pay for the installation.
I hope it won't be too long. Ford says more info will be coming in 2nd quarter and we are almost there!! Sometimes they are late, sometimes they are early.
I don't deal with any of the finance stuff myself. I think rate approvals are usually good for 30 days.
Ford Credit does have some...
I don't work in parts myself....so I don't know the details. The prefix does indicate the year and model of the vehicle the product was first used for.
I did some digging online. Prior to 1999, the 1st digit was the decade and the 2nd the year, like you said. The 3rd indicated the product line...
Probably just a mistake/oversight. Sales reps are probably unlikely to check for recalls before going on test drives (and this one was fairly new). Looks like they did catch it during PDI, and at least you didn't drive off w/it after paying/signing papers?
I really doubt it was on purpose...
Yikes! They may just neglect reporting the vehicle to Ford. Or are ok risking a big fine....
Was this recent? Airbag parts can be ordered w/ signed buyers order. That certainly should have been taken care of before you drove off with it!
I don't know if you've seen the entire recall notice or not. This one is "advance notice" only. Compliance Recall 23C04
"A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers 2nd quarter 2023 when it is anticipated that parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to...
No that won't work. Dealer can't report sold to Ford until the recall is completed. They can get in all sorts of trouble if they let you drive off with it w/ an open safety recall.
I don't know all of the timing...but they may have checked OASIS when they did the PDI (a day or two before you...
No idea there!! I suspect that it is just from a different supplier, but essentially the same??
They both (currently) cost the exact same amount, so no savings to use one over the other.
The Ford part number for FL910S is BE8Z-6731-AC. The Ford part number for FL2123 is NU2Z-6731-EA. Same...
That filter looks ok. I work at a dealership and searched for info on FL2123. This is from a July 2022 memo to dealers:
In order to improve availability and ensure our customers are receiving high quality filters, Ford Customer Service is pleased to announce the launch of our first Original...
That would depend on the dealer.... I'm assuming the ESP plan would need to be a "used" ESP plan, and would need to have a vehicle inspection done first. Any issues are supposed to be noted during that inspection, and shouldn't be covered. There are restrictions on what a dealer can claim...
