but wouldn't you need a wire from the tailgate to the light? I could see a potential for that wife getting pinched. I guess you could run it with the back up camera wires.

How did you make those? That is very clever.Another cool thing I made to showcase my love of shooting sports, and cars were these valve stem covers. Aluminum shell casings cannot be reloaded. As such I usually leave em there since they are one time use. I decided to take a handful home from the range last time I went in for handgun practice.
I used brass valve stem caps and machined them down just enough that a .40 caliber shell casing would fit. Then I set the casing over the machined cap with a small amount of epoxy and let them dry. I used aluminum casings. Once dry, I used an old 18 wheeler valve stem that I removed the rubber from. This i chuck up in my electric drill and spin while using finer and finer grits of sandpaper up to about 1800 wetsand. Then i hit them with metal polish on a paper towel.

This was one of the first mods I did to my Maverick! Never liked prop rods!Redline Tuning hood strut kit. $99 off Amazon I believe. Uses a 10mm socket and 13mm socket and 13mm wrench. 15 minute assembly time. You have to remove the bolt and clip nut off washer fluid bottle. Well worth having these. No prop rod in the way.
I’m so glad I got the heated seats and steer wheel option! Even here in Arizona, I’ve used them quite often. Of course I would have made it through the winter without them, but having it certainty made it much more comfortable!Woke up at 4:30 this morning to go for my morning run and get ready for work. Windy and 38° eh not so bad. I get to work and feel the temps dropping. By 8am its 11°F and has a windchill of negative 3°F. At this time I was rethinking me saying i didnt need the XLT lux pak in west Texas when I ordered this thing, and it delaying my order. That heated steering wheel and a heated seat would have been pretty nice to have right about now lol. The good thing is this engine does warm up and start pushing out heat pretty quickly.
Holy crap that’s got to be the biggest pair of vice grips I’ve seen!And how much room do you think your really gonna get cutting away the wheel houses. Maybe 2 inches on either side? A whole 4 inches for all your effort. I mean there is still tires, shocks, and suspension under there. It's not empty space.
Could I do this type of mod? Yup I sure could. Am I gonna? Nope. The gains are minimal. This is just a 4 door car with a large trunk to me is all it is. See pix below. This is me reversing a rusted floor, and horribly hacked in pop rivets and silicone aluminum minitub job on a 69 barracuda. Pix show that I am capable of doing this sort of stuff. The difference in the pix, is I am putting the car back to original, and restoring the structural integrity that was designed into it by the OEM.
I ordered these for the cup holders. I think they will be pretty cool. Will prob set them up as light blue to match the dash backlighting
