This is a return home trip today. Left a Pilot Truck Stop, got on a very mountainous Interstate highway and took this screenshot when I stopped at the red light at the end of the exit ramp, 105 miles later. There was one minor traffic slowdown for construction. 5-10 minutes at the most. I go 56 mph, but I also go faster downhill to take advantage of Newton’s Law (and charge my drive battery). My ‘23 is rated for 33 on the highway. I am posting this just to show how efficient Mav Hybrid ‘highway’ mileage can be. I know everyone will not like the fact that I go 56, but in going faster downhill, I keep most of the truckers at bay. Just an ‘infomercial’ for all you out there wondering what you can achieve. The 2 or 3 mile distance, mpg posts, show nothing really. I can show 999 mpg over a 5 mile section on this stretch, as the electric runs that stretch 100%. Again, Newton’s Law. Hope some find this helpful and interesting. My city mileage is actually really bad, as in ‘not so good.’ But after 58,000 miles, I am averaging 46-47 mpg, consistently. As I have stated before, cold seasonal climes do a real ‘number’ on my mpg. 20% less in extreme cold!

I hear you
56 mph on the highway? In NC that is our backroad speed limit lol.
I hear ya. But I also noticed semis going slower. At $6-$7 a gallon, I think even our hauling guys are moderating. I noticed that pretty much the entire stretch of road on this run, there was an 18 wheeler following contently along. If you want to go 75, you’ll get somewhere in the 30’s. THAT is a huge difference! It is a choice and a tradeoff, just like most things in life!! I’m retired, so slower is okay. I see people driving like dangerous fools all the time. I like to say that they are in a hurry to get home and sit on the couch! Just a shame that they jeoardize other folks well being, to get to that sofa!!

Sorry. I didn’t see your post. I always drive in ECO mode, unless I am hauling or pulling my squaredrop trailer. (700 lbs.) Then I use Tow/Haul.

Drive mode between Normal & Eco wouldn't have much bearing on this downhillish slowish example.

Which is great example of what is needed for great high speed mpg.

Eco would have provided more default auto-regen/braking with foot off the Go pedal.
If it was too much you'd be pressing on the Go pedal to remove some to coast better.

Normal would have provided less auto-regen and foot might have to be on the brake to regen a bit more.

But regen either way. Battery is going to max out either way. Just personal preference for which pedal is preferred.

At 55 I can have slight incline in EV mode, no headwind though. Won't last long at the power required, but why rolling is so good. Or downish.
And I really get none of those on the highway unless traffic is heavy - 70 mph is no EV unless steep downhills I don't have, but at least the eCVT helps with mpg still.

Was is rolling downhillish, like some ups to use EV on?
Wondering how loud your ICE braking was on longer stretches at 55 mph after the HVB was full?

75 🤣 I75 north of Saginaw is 75 mph that means cruising speed of 85 and lots pushing 90.
Everyone assumes that.
But assumes wrong.
I does not happen.

75-55 is 20 mph approach speed.
School zone speed. Safe & sane.

You're insane.

Put up, or ---- up.

Provide documentation of multiple rear end collisions on the road of your choice from someone moving in the same direction at a constant slower speed.

I might learn something.
Then again, you might.
