I put all of my fuel economy data into a spreadsheet. This is what I learned.
I'll put the TL;DR at the top: 38.2 MPG
I drive, on average, 226 miles per week.
And I fuel up every 403 miles, or 11.97 days at 10.55 Gallons per fill up
The dash has been 6.2% optimistic compared to my calculated MPG. It was 6.8% high before I adjusted the AFE Bias at 7,281 miles, since this has fallen to 5.7%. It is much more accurate after the change, but any remote starting skews the dash AVG. This is, for me, is much more pronounced during the winter.
Oil Changed At 4,267 Miles - 127.5 Gallons of Fuel- 32.8 MPG
and 6,613 Miles later At 10,880 Miles - 156.1 Gallons - 41.9 MPG Since 4,267
and 5,921 Miles Later At 16,801 Miles - 163 Gallons - 36.2 MPG Since 10,880
Continental ProContact TX - 225/65R17 - removed at 9,258 Miles. 38.5 MPG
Replaced with Michelin CrossClimate 2 - 225/65R17. Since then, now at 16,599 Miles - 37.25 MPG
I just rotated these after 7,601 Miles. Fronts are slightly more worn, but no surprises. I may do a whole other review about these tires.
I filled up a week ago after 620 Miles and had my 2nd highest full tank at 46.3 MPG. The dash thought it would be 45.9 MPG.
I love this truck, and I love filling the bed full of crap.
