I ordered a 2025 hybrid AWD back in August and it's been delivered to the dealership. The Ford cost is one thing. Any insight on what to expect the dealership to add on to the cost? As it is, the Ford cost is pushing the limits of my budget so anything added on could be a deal breaker. Thanks for your input.

The dealer didn't tell you the price when you placed the order?
I placed the order through the Ford website but it's being delivered to a local Ford dealership where I presume they'll charge something for their hard work (none).

When I picked up my ordered ‘23 hybrid Lariat, the dealer tried to muscle me for a ding-repair AND interior rips/vomit on carpet package for a total of $700. I’m ideally picking up my ‘25 hybrid Lariat this week and I’ve let them know that I’m paying my ordered MSRP only.

You’re referring to Dealer Add-in’s and Market Adjustments/ Dealer added markup.
Before I placed my order I did the dealer reset to find one that display this game — it’s few and far between. Out here in Northern California I can tell you Walnut Creek Ford is one such dealer.

For your situation, I’d contact the desk and tell them you want to car as ordered with nothing else and be explicit its a deal breaker. As for MSRP, you should have that conversation at the same time.

Ford isn't Tesla, they don't sell direct from the manufacturer to the consumer. You can certainly use the website to "build" a vehicle, but if you actually placed an order, it was thru a dealership that contacted you.

So, what price did you agree to pay when you placed your order with the dealership that contacted you?

It's been my experience that there is almost always some sort of markup. There is always some kind of "Document Fee" that'll run from $200 up. One local Ford dealership always adds on a module that makes the third brake light pulse when you step on the brake. Nice feature, and they go on and on about the safety of it but the markup for it is very high. The place I got my Mav seems to always add a ceramic paint protection and an interior fabric treatment; the paint protection seemed ok but I turned down the interior treatment cuz there ain't no fabric in a Lariat. As for other stuff, like noted above, you just have to be firm and insist on an hard NO.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree. I guess I'm jaded at my old age. There's always something they add on.

What dealer? My guess is that their webpage will include a description similar to below.

You didn't place an actual order through Ford.com. You configured a tentative build. That is sent to a dealer, based on the ZIP Code you entered. When you agreed with the dealer to actually order the truck, you probably signed papers WRT what you agreed to. And maybe, paid an optional deposit (not all dealers require deposits and Ford does not require one). When you place the order with a dealer is the very best time to find out what additional charges above MSRP, they plan to charge you. IOW, the OTD price.

Many only charge you the MSRP shown by law on the window sticker, plus a reasonable document fee. Others try and rip off customers with additional fees or add-ons like undercoating, window tint, VIN etching, etc. Those are the fees you need to find out before delivery day. Researching the dealer's reputation is as much as, if not more important than, researching a vehicle you plan to buy.

Thanks and you're right; that's exactly how it went. I've talked to the dealer and the price won't change much, only going up for a couple of fees.

No proof anywhere that the blinking brake light has any safety affect.
