I am going to park my 23 Maverick Hybrid for three months at my Michigan home. I will hook up a battery tender on the 12volt battery connections under the hood. Is there anything else I need to do to store it correctly. Thanks

I would store it with non-ethanol fuel in the tank, if it's readily available in your area. Make sure you stabilize the fuel otherwise.

Keep it off the ground. If you can't do that, inflate tires to 45-50 psi. Also use a ton of rodent spray and hope they don't set up shop.

When I store my Mustang over the winter here in Wisconsin, I use a battery tender, hood open with light on in garage, mice like dark, put steel wool in exhaust pipe, in air intake, and make sure nothing edible in car. I also put mothballs on engine and in car & trunk. I keep tires on pieces of plywood, plus stable in gas tank. Never had a mouse problem and starts right up in Spring.

I believe I read on this forum that the owners manual has some information on what to do if you are not going to be driving your vehicle for extended periods.

Disconnecting the negative battery connection seems to ring a bell.

I tried using peppermint oil in the engine compartment but that obviously hasn't deterred them!

Park it and forget it

my experience with battery tenders is they tend to overcharge the battery. My friend had a battery cook while on a tender and it pissed acid all over his pristine restored Mustang engine compartment.

I have a 4 bank battery tender jr I’ve had no joke 10 years, I even have a solar power battery tender to 12v converter in shed on mower battery

Batteries ran way beyond their intended life, I just replace 6-7 years due to age not health but I attribute the tenders to being awesome

If you’re worried about a discharged battery have FordPass start your car every couple weeks and let it charge for 1/2 hour

if its stored inside a garage or something, that could kill someone or pet. lol. imagine not knowing that someone moved it into garage or something. and him remote starting it. that would be tragic. (but I dont know if 30 minutes is enough for exhaust killing)
