When I store my Mustang over the winter here in Wisconsin, I use a battery tender, hood open with light on in garage, mice like dark, put steel wool in exhaust pipe, in air intake, and make sure nothing edible in car. I also put mothballs on engine and in car & trunk. I keep tires on pieces of plywood, plus stable in gas tank. Never had a mouse problem and starts right up in Spring.
That right there is a full time job

If you’re worried about a discharged battery have FordPass start your car every couple weeks and let it charge for 1/2 hour
I considered that option have had squirrels chew thru the high-pressure fuel line. Starting the truck remotely in that scenario would result in a burned out hulk.

the solution to rodents, apparently, is to switch over to peppermint based fuel and lubricants . . .

If that's not practical  , leave out enough food that feral cats make the dispenser part of their patrol route, but not enough that it's viable to live in your yard.

I actually want to ask the county to relocate another feral cat or two here :ROFLMAO: .

There used to be a pack of about three, but it's down to one as far as we can tell. Three kept the neighborhood scrubbed of rodents, but we're seeing occasional rats now that there's only one.

Dealers often have vehicles in stock for a year or more… they certainly don’t do anything special.

Newbie question/follow up: will periodically remotely starting the hybrid using the Ford Pass app sufficiently keep the batteries charged? I'm planning to be away for 5-6 weeks, so my Mav will not be driven during that period.
