2025 Maverick Hybrid Models Can Be Flat Towed

So I received my build date today Week of Jan 6 for my Lariat. I'm going to cancel my order in the next couple of weeks unless something drastically changes concrete in writing that the AWD 2025 Hybrid can be Flat 4 Tow Approved behind a Recreational vehicle.

Based on the owners manual I'm going to say that for 2025 2wd / FWD versions of the Hybrid are flat 4 tow approved behind rv's. Anyone else seeing a green light on the 2wd versions ?

If this is approved, I'll more than likely order a XLT with all the Lux Pkg., 360 Pkg. and a few other minor items. Will be about 10K less than a lariat. Still a decision vs something else.

If the AWD can be flat towed why does the owner manual says that is cannot:

RECREATIONALLY TOWING YOUR VEHICLE - AWD You cannot recreational tow your vehicle with all wheels on the ground because vehicle or transmission damage could occur. You must recreational tow your vehicle with all four wheels off the ground, such as when using a car-hauling trailer. Otherwise, you cannot recreational tow your vehicle.

We did find out that Flat towing is capable with a AWD Hybrid. When we got our information from our contact, the engineers were not sure about flat towing so they answered No. that has since been updated and they tested it out and confirmed that you can indeed tow with AWD Hybrid.

I doubt that this will ever be changed as none of the AWD cars I know can be flat towed.
Between my wife, my daughter and I we had 6 subaru which cannot be flat towed as when doing this the transmission is revolving without lubrfication and it is ruined.

I'm getting the vibes that AWD flat Four is not approved. Perhaps .... Dawn's information was suppose to be for emergency towing only with the limitations in the current Owners manual.
I had tunnel vision on the Owners manual information thinking initially that all 2025 Hybrids (and EB) regardless if AWD or FWD was not approved. While I want a Lariat AWD w/ 4K tow Pkg., I might consider a XLT FWD Hybrid to tow behind my RV.

My 2025 Lariat on order and I got my Build date / Vin for week of Jan 6. I hate cancelling as it's what I want but if it can't be flat 4 towed I can't sign the paperwork for ownership. Sucks

I will not be signing for my vehicle until the issue is resolved. To be resolved, a new modified owners manual/warrenty needs to be posted for download and a letter or other documentation needs to be provided to guarantee that any issue, damage or failures will be covered by the warranty. Nothing less. I highly recommend all buyers consider letting your sales person know now, I will be in the dealership come Monday hoping to get them engaged.

Tell your Sales Person to escalate to their General Sales Manager (GSM) AND to contact the District / Regional Ford Managers to get this issue resolved at the TOP level.

Your Dealership Personnel will have no Idea about the Conflicting Information that has been released from various Ford spokespersons.

The reply from the dealership is tepid at best. The first response was the link to Ford Authority' "exclusive" article about it being flat towable... Given that the Ford Authority is not Ford It doesn't count. I pointed that to the sales person and they said they will see what they can get from Ford.

Just to be fair, I reached out across the RV forums to let folks know there is a problem with the Owner's manual that if they are buying a Maverick, they need to be aware. I am really hoping to see this resolved with an updated manual and a document stating we can flat tow the AWD 2025 Maverick. Is is such a nice vehicle.

i think DaVonya has sent that out to others for about a month. At this point, I'd certainly not buy a 2025 AWD to tow until I saw it in black and white in the owner's manual. At this point, Farley himself needs to issue a statement before I'd believe it.
