I know the truck has the auto hold controls down by the dial, that's not what I mean. But how the maverick enters auto hold automatically if you're holding the brakes down long enough, particularly on an incline.

I'm just not fond of the sound of makes when you gently tap the gas, and it makes that awkward sound of it releasing. I'm sure it's fine, but everytime it makes that sound, it feels like the truck is breaking.

Is there some option deep in the settings somewhere to select for the truck to never go into auto hold? Probably not, but I'd figure I'd ask.

Huh? I'm on my 3rd Maverick, and none of them have ever auto-engaged the Auto Hold feature.

Wonder if this is specific to Hybrids?

That's not auto hold, that's hill assist or whatever Ford brands it as.

It's fine. Don't OCD over it.

(and yes it's weird to have on an automatic vehicle)

Disable "Hill Start Assist"
Maybe with Forscan?

My 24 EcoBoost does it very seldom, only in mornings after leaving battery charger on and it has a full charge. Like most on here don’t care for it anyway, always disable it on start. And, I have one of those AGM batteries, odd! With a date of 05/24.

Hill decent is totally different than auto hold. My FX4 has both, never used either of them yet, but who knows, life is short!😉

I have auto brake hold and find it very useful . fx4 here and only makes slight noise when first used when cold . always turn off start/stop . not a fan of start/stop which I feel causes excessive wear/ tear on engine , turbo and battery .

I use auto hold religiously. I LOVE that it stays on between key cycles.
