After 8 months and 5,644 miles, I am still happy with my truck. No problems and only one recall for the taillights. Over the last 1,600 miles the truck has averaged 29.3 miles per gallon in mixed driving. The ride and handling are great. It is the best riding truck I have ever owned. I have owned nine Rangers prior to the Maverick and say in all honesty the ride, handling, and gas mileage are all much better on the Maverick.

And yet I’ve only had my 24 new special order eco since late July and nothing but “battery save mode on”, transmission lugs and chugs under 15 hundred RPM, won’t downshift, lights don’t work properly, pissed off! Have appointment at dealership on Tuesday prolly to find more shit! Time for a trade in unless they can fix this crap!! Sorry to vent people.

You’ll have to live with chug. I’ve tried multiple times with dealer service to fix and they say it’s normal.

There are programs that turn the 8 speed to a 7 speed. Mavericks second and third gear ratio's are basically the same.

If that’s normal then B.S. I’ve heard on this forum a while ago they can fix it with a software update or can delete from computer how it was driven during break-in period which was babying it. Now I want to drive it like I stole it! 😤

So far, I would have to agree with you. My 2024 ecoboost AWD has been a joy to drive. I get similar mileage except for when I'm towing heavy loads, which is understandable. Hope we both continue to enjoy our Maverick's.

And then mine hits 4th and that’s when the’chugging’ starts. Doesn’t want to downshift to prevent it. See what happens @ dealer Tuesday!

Try using premium fuel, and using trailer tow mode until engine reaches normal operating temperature. Keeps it in a lower gear longer before shifting. This seems to help, especially as the weather starts getting colder.

I’m not spending money on premium to fix a Ford problem, I’ll continue living with it. I’ve tried all the drive modes doesn’t help but it does get a little better after it’s warmed up

Regular unleaded can be used, but premium is the preferred recommended fuel. Check your owner's manual. It will make a noticeable improvement.
