After six months and one week of ownership, I am still happy with this truck. It now has a little over 4,600 miles on the odometer. The ride and handling are great and the gas mileage is, also. The last 1,000 miles it has averaged 29.99 miles per gallon. That is mostly two lane highway for 90 percent of the driving and about 10 percent for around town driving. The computer says 30.3, so I have it adjusted to within .3 of a mile per gallon. My only complaint is the stop/start system. I just don't like it. Most of the time I just turn it off, but when I forget it makes me mad all over again. I have owned many trucks over the years and this is the only one that could hit 30 mpg.

The Mavericks Auto Stop/Start is world's better than new Subaru's for instance. Had a rental that basically refused to start back up at an intersection among other issues. Just saying.

Ford should give the driver a way to leave it turned off. Trying to remember to turn it off at every startup is a pain. I just don't like it and don't think the small savings on gas will out weigh the cost of repairs down the road.

Why should you have to pay for something that you didn't want in the first place? Should just be able to permanently turn it off. I bet there is a wire somewhere that can be disconnected.

If you disconnect the sensor running from the battery will Ford void your warranty? I am looking for a way to turn off the start/stop permanently without spending money. Also, I have read that if you disconnect the sensor it will prevent the BMS from working properly. Any feedback is appreciated.
Hoping to hear from someone about this. Will the battery still charge properly if the BMS sensor is disabled?

This is my first vehicle with auto start stop and I'm keeping an open mind. Having almost ran out of gas in rush hour traffic with an accident slowing down traffic just from idling I can see the benefit in those situations.

But i also drive a hybrid for 9 years and appreciate the idea of not eating gas and maximizing fuel economy. So far i kind of like it.

I think this feature was invented for CAFE mileage standards as a way to satisfy the regulations and still provide bigger faster vehicles.
