Lariat windshield just replaced at Safelite

you did somehow capture the differences between where the HVAC defrost vent is hitting, and what the lariat lux heated wiper defrost is doing.

then, if we zoom in, you also can see the defrost graphic I was talking about. it's under this green arrow.

The heated windshield where the wipers rest is a nice feature especially if you live in a snowy cold climate.

My wife's '05 Saab had it and the few times a year we had snow she said it came in handy because it kept that area free and clear of snow and ice and didn't accumulate on her wiper blades.

The camera is also heated. You can see in the photo there is a circle around it without frost.

When I drove back to my home in Florida from Buffalo, NY, I was caught in a lake effect wind and thunderstorm along the Thruway (90). I made it home and noticed my windshield was pitted from blowing sand, some hail, and other stuff. Luckily, my paint wasn’t affected.
I filed a claim with my insurance company, Allstate, and just had my windshield replaced this morning at Safelite.
A few things I didn’t know about my Maverick:
1. The windshield is heated and so are the side mirrors.
2. The windshield has a solar panel in it.
3. There’s a camera in it above the rear view mirror in that panel.

I never knew I had those things included.

Another thing that you probably don’t know: if you had to buy the windshield outright because insurance didn’t cover it it cost $1100!

Depending on the configuration the prices are different. The acoustic windshield w/o heated element MSRP from Ford is $480 but can be bought for $325. That would be quite a jump to $1100 for some wires, but I didn't bother looking it up since I don't have that on my '24. Or, windshield places are charging excessive markups...

Safelite is a ripoff. they are always 2x 3x local shops. I can't suggest anything specific unless you live near me, but I'm sure that Safelite will be the most expensive thing anyone can do.

I have a 23’ lariat -no lux truck , factory oem soundscreen , no wiper heat was $640 cash , third party installed in san diego at my house.
You Should not be paying over $700 ,I would think.

I had mine replaced last month by Safelite. If you want OEM, you have to ask for it but there is no guarantee insurance will pay for it.

Just yesterday after a first frost and remote starting to warm it up, it started leaking along the top. Safelite is coming out next week to fix that.

On your lariat climate controls, the top left button is for the heated mirrors.

if you have the climate control on auto (any speed 1-3) it can turn on the heated mirrors automatically.

that's relatively competitive. maybe it's just my local safelite that's awful, but I was quoted $1300.

I need a new windshield for my 2022 Lariat, and was quoted $900 for it by a local glass shop. Not sure if it’s aftermarket or OE quality. Do you mind sharing what the OE windshield with all the bells and whistles should cost?

That's why the windshield on a Lariat (with lux package) costs $1300. not sure if it's the same windshield without the Lux package.
