Factory Brake Lights - LED or not

Hey Guys,

I bought the 2023 Maverick XL base model brand new and swapped out some of the lights already. The Maverick is now in California with my son in the military so I don't have direct access to it. He said one of the brake lights is out. Only the bottom light on the driver's side. I can't recall if I had swapped out the brake lights or not. I was thinking the factory brake light bulbs were already LED. I went thru my emails receipts for bulbs I purchased and only see where I purchased a LED for the 3rd brake light.

Can anyone confirm if the 2023 factory brake lights were LED or not?

If I am not mistaken, the brake light bulbs for tailight assembly on an hybrid XL is not LED.

Huh - don't think I noticed an underhood light!
Thank goodness the license plate light is LED.
And good thing this is so clear regarding all the rear lights...

Replacement bulbs are specified in the chart below. Headlamp bulbs must be marked with an authorized D.O.T. marking for North America to make sure they have the proper lamp performance, light brightness, light pattern and safe visibility. The correct bulbs will not damage the lamp assembly or void the lamp assembly warranty and will provide quality bulb illumination time.

Ok, I guess the next picture in manual clears it up a bit.
Except - in the chart High & Low series means something regarding A & C doing the same functions.
But High series on side marker lamp? Where's the low...

OK, so I located my original receipt from Last and I did replace the factory bulbs with these. Weird thing is I can not find any brake lights listed for the 2023 Maverick on the Last website. Not even on the F150LEDS website either.

No, they weren't LED.
If the new LED bulbs don't match factory spec, the computer might think the bulb is burnt out and not even send electricity to it. Might also get dash warnings.

Hmm, I’ve a 24 XLT Eco with all options but I don’t have an under hood light at all. Maybe Ford stopped in 22,23?

I'll have to peek if there is already a socket for wiring to something else.

I'd sure find it more useful for EB than my Hybrid I think.
Hybrid you can open the hood in the dark on side of road after it just quit - and look around with a light or not and say the same thing - "well, nothing I can do here!"

LASFIT stopped selling brake lights for the Maverick because they were unable to design them to satisfy the BCM's bulb outage detection routine.

ETA: I think we know what went in that blank square.

I recall that in several threads way back when several of the BCM updates were happening.
They just couldn't seem to satisfy whatever the BCM was measuring.

Yeah maybe so, I have the set that had them & if you turn off the bulb outage indicator in Forscan you don't get the hyperflash indicator through the dash. The bulbs have functioned flawlessly for me for nearly a year on my 24 Lariat so far.
