So you already had both the EcoBoost and a hybrid in your household. You already knew how the hybrid drove compared to the EcoBoost. What was the point of ordering another hybrid just to refuse it? Doesn’t make any sense to me. 🤷‍♂️

I suspect it's a little of the old, "the grass is greener on the other side" syndrome.

...If you drive a eco boost you will feel the increase in power.
That is true, I've driven one. But having driven two hybrids, a Toyota and the Maverick, I've come to loathe conventional automatic transmissions, with their clutches, torque converters, and a plethora of gears, many of which are often skipped by the computer when accelerating. I don't see the point for all the gears, other than improved EPA mileage scores.
I will never buy another vehicle that has one.

Thought i wanted hybrid to drive everyday but when the new 24 hybrid came in i could not give up the power of my 22 eco boost. The point of ordering is i wanted a hybrid for mpg but at the end of the day power was more important. The dealer is ok they have a 22 xl hybrid to sell.

I ordered a 24 xl hybrid to replace my 22 xl eco boost about a year ago. Looking forward to the mpg of my new hybrid but i will mis my eco boost turbo and most of my mod. Ford is giving $750 rebate and my dealer is giving $ 900 rebate and $160 price protection, that gets me to $25,475 and $22,500 trade in along with not having to pay $ 1,300 in sales tax the money works out. looking forward to a two year newer hybrid maverick in the same shadow black.
I drove a 2.0 for a year while I waited for my hybrid and I barely notice the acceleration difference in daily driving but I drive pretty easy.
I do notice that every time I take a road trip my average goes down and takes awhile to come back up. Probably would be better if I could keep it under 75mpg but that's hard when you're trying to make time.
You'll have fun with your brake coach meter always trying to get 100%.

keeping it in the green battery area is ok but getting good acceleration when i want or need is fun. Sometimes i drive pretty easy and sometime i don't.

Not sure how long you plan to keep it, but I predict the hybrid eCVT with Adkins cycle 2.5 will go farther than a GDI 2.0 with an 8F35.

Might get you there a little slower though?

I feel confident my maverick eco boost will last many more years and miles.

I have a Polaris Slingshot for those times when I want to test my sphincter muscles.
