Todd from "Todd's Truck Life" and I had a chat the other day about bringing more content directly to the forum, and we're excited to kick-off with his review of the Go Rhino Dominator DSS Sliders- giving you first hand Ford Maverick owner knowledge and experiences from one of RealTruck's own!

Looks good, but I think if I was going to put sliders on I would go with JCR offroad sliders. JCR requires drilling and the floor skids though, so it would more expensive over all and more of a pain to install. These would be the way to go if you just like the look of sliders or needed a small step.

Great questions! It's a mild steel, typically referred to as a carbon steel. The tubing and the step pad is a 16-gauge.

Here is an installation guide with a few helpful images on where you'll install the brackets: installation-instructions_GRH-D64029TK.pdf You'll see that they mount to the rocker panel.

Per the video, if just kicking up something on the road dented the slider, I'm concerned if it would handle the proportional weight of the vehicle shifting onto a rock. Agree with @TJ2023, this looks like more of a step and less of a trustworthy slider.

I see how that can be a concern. While the sliders may show surface dents from road debris, their core strength isn't compromised by the impacts. The reinforced mounting points and its robust structure is designed to manage the distribution of force when the vehicle shifts onto obstacles like rocks, sparing your cab potential damage.

These are 0.0625” thick mild steel. The stock sliders on a Jeep wrangler are .120”. They get gashed and dented up and can even bow in enough that they are permanently touch the rocker panels. I would not trust 0.0625” tubing to offer much protection at all.

I get your concern about thickness. While the steel is thinner than the stock sliders for a Jeep Wrangler, these are a good option if you're looking for a balance between protection and keeping your truck lighter. But if you're planning on doing more extreme off-roading with heavy hits, going for something thicker might give you more peace of mind.

Step 6 in the instructions. I've located the hole, but the picture makes it hard to figure out which direction the screw with plate should fit into the drilled plate. And from there, it's hard to pull the screw with plate through the drilled plate

The bolt has a square head that will fit into the square hole of the plate so that it can't spin once it's in place. What's always worked best for me when using a fishwire is I route the coiled end of the fishwire through the hole that the bolt is supposed to come out of, and guide it to the hole that the bolt is fed through. Once the coiled end is out, slide the square hole in the plate over the coild end of the fishwire, push the plate along the wire into the chasis, and then thread the bolt into the coil. Don't forget to push the plate into the hole before you start pulling the bolt through with the fishwire. When the bolt comes out the hole, make sure the square head is seated all the way before removing the fishwire.

Yeah, I'm just having a hard time getting the bolt to pull into the square hole plate. I'm installing the DSS sliders.
