Turns out that a lot of "totaled" cars/trucks of all makes are being auctioned off and going to Georgia (country), quickly repaired with no pesky safety requirements and resold around their neighboring countries. A large portion going to eastern European countries.
I wonder how many go south of the border? Probably a few places down there with much lower safety standards.

Now gotta worry over a blown 2.0. My truck just turn 4,200 miLes, 1 yo this month.

A misfire could perhaps lead to detonation, rapid explosion in cylinder, more pressure, busted mechanicals.

If you can, advise what blown…hole in piston, bent rod, did it bust the block?

I wouldn't worry. Been here since 2021 and the 2 liter has been quite stout with just a few folks having issues.

When I say it had a slight misfire. I mean it happens like one day months ago and I felt a miss for a moment and it went away. Never had a issue I drive 100 miles a day for work. On the way to work yesterday it has that same miss and I babied it. And it didn't have any issues . No codes or anything but on the way home after 30 minutes into my drive it started missing and running on 3 cylinders. I pulled over and let it sit. Checked the codes and it another out babies it back home and 10 minutes away it would barely run over 60 in eco mode babying it. I'm guessing the ground strap J was worn or something I'm not sure I've never seen it happened before. I was running 93 octane so I had good fuel and shouldn't have been detonation.

My current upgrade is only a muffler. But I'm sure the dealer will not warranty for upgrades

That does increase the HP and cylinder pressure I presume; I wonder if that has anything to do with the long-term reliability?

I get over it, over time. Just a worrying type here.

My 2011 F250 diesel bothered me a lot given issues with injector and/or heater tips burning and breaking, busting pistons n head. Over 12 years ownership, never that issue. But every time I put key in, turn to start, tow a 10,000# RV, always wondering….anxiety.

Wifes 2017 Escape has 1.5 L engine. learned of design fault of block to cylinder head n gasket woes, antifreeze leakages. A gap there. loss. Loss of coolant, causing misfire. Now, today and >50k miles, still running. I put a black marker line on radiator reservoir to watch water level drop, if any. Over the years, added lil bit of distilled water. So nothing major. Out of warranty, maybe little value in it nowadays. If engine blows, there’s a brand new vehicle out there waiting. And I read Ford fixed the block casting gap issue on later 1.5L engines.

Absolutely not. I'd be more worried about 85 octane.

If I have to pay for an engine I want the 2.3 Corsair motor. Is fast maverick the only one who's done the swa? He said everything swapped right over in one of his posts.

I know these some issues with the company at the moment and I don't want to hear about that.

Fyi my engine had a slight missing occasionally on the way to work. On the way home it was there. So I babied it. Then all a sudden all I got was misfire cylinder 2 error codes. Got home and check the spark plugs and the ground strap has broken off into the engine.

I don't think I'm in my warranty period anymore.
I got a letter from ford saying they were covering

assuming the misfire is setting a DTC that is not something that you ever ignore. that's a stop driving as soon as it's safe, tow it, investigate and diagnose properly. but anyway, here were are.

the corsair 2.3 sold in very, very low numbers compared to any other 2.3 ecoboost, but it does have the turbo mounted in such a way that it's easily adapted to the Maverick. other 2.3 blocks would work but I would not expect the turbo plumbing to mate up at all without fabricating your own up and downpipes.

I would probably look for a 19+ 2.0 in a salvage yard. there are going to be far, far more of those than corsair 2.3s.

a maverick 2.0 is a sure thing, other donors should mostly work but it's certainly possible some brackets etc are different but you would be able to scavenge from your stock engine.
I got a letter on my 2022 Hybrid from Ford that it was covering the engine for 100K and extended years, I’d have to get the letter but it was 7 or10 years. I’d sure check with the dealer.
