I just so happened to hand wash my Mav yesterday also...the difference was, it was dark by the time I finished, and I was so tired and hungry, I was more worried about getting a meal and sitting down to rest. No photo, no beer, no tunes. I must be getting old.

Same here.
When we get into town, It's usually the tunnel of torture because it's the handiest and fastest.
I may dry it, if there's shade and time. Usually I try and get it washed while my wife is grocery shopping.
With arthritis in my back. My hand washing the truck days are pretty much over.
I'm sure not going to hand wash in over 100°.

Sadly I agree. I have 3 herniated disc’s plus some other fun things going on in my back. As much as I want to give my little truck some loving by a good hand wash I pay for it later. I used to spend hours on my GTO, MACH 1 and many others, took better care of them than myself. I still manage to do my own oil changes but our vehicles should be pampered more. Good to see others taking such pride in their ownership 😉
GTO,,, I had a 68 in high school in 81

No Sir.
As part owner and worker for last seven years in an automotive, ATV, snow machine, jet ski, Graphics Company. When I was there we used 3m vinyl.
If the surface of the vehicle is properly cleaned pre-treated and the graphics are put on per the instructions. A car Wash will not remove them.

That's why I got this Ryobi handheld blower. Gets 90% of the water off the truck, then 10 minutes of towel drying and the towels not even wet.

You'll no longer have the issue of lingering water in crevices or gaps. I got it a couple weeks ago from home Depot on sale for $119.99 with the battery and charger included, normally 149.99. This one has multiple nozzles and attachments, the one pictured has a soft pliable rubber tip.

You could also use your standard battery-powered yard blower but they're too big noisy and cumbersome for vehicle use in my opinion.

I've got the Ridgid brand mini blower just for drying the mirrors and crevices.

No but my fingers removed my FX4 decals. 😉
I had a ufo skid past my passenger side decal and ended up with a bb width strip removed from most of it.
Ordered some new black, gray and silver decals because I thought they would go better with the CG.
After removing the damaged one and looking at it I decided Titch should go commando.
I really don’t care if anyone else knows it’s an FX4 or not, I like the clean look better.

I don't know about decals but I know they'll add new scratches and rip loosen up vent visors as well as take off a antenna.

You know I have a compact Bauer workshop blower and I never thought of using it this way. Thank you for the great idea.

Yep up till 2 weeks ago I used my greenworks 80 volt battery blower which worked well but was awkward compared to the small handheld Ryobi blower which is 5lbs lighter.

I've got a big EGO leaf blower of similar size (and color), but it is also awkward. It moves a lot of air, fast, but if you have a big yard, stick to a high-amperage plug-in model or a gas blower. Or buy several big batteries.

Anyway, I washed mine today by hand. First time Iv'e hand-washed a vehicle in a few years. Used to hand-wash my F-150, but I actually needed a small ladder to reach the middle of the roof. Not so with the Maverick!

I may (or may not) take a shot at applying some Ceramic tomorrow morning. Grotto's 3 in 1 Ceramic spray. One of the better spray products around. Ford or the dealer put something on it, as it has done a good job of beading water and repelling dirt. Bugs and tar are a little work, but not bad.

Agreed, I always stood on the running boards of my 12' & 16' F-150's when washing.
