Dead Battery

I’ve been reading lots on the deep sleep and dead battery issues and I’m struggling to find if there’s a solid fix for it? Lots of suggestions for wrapping my remote in tinfoil (is this really a fix?) change the battery to an agm, delete the FordPass app etc, but it seems most or all of these are short term fixes at best?

I came out to my truck (2.0 EB) this morning and the battery was so dead the remote wouldn’t unlock the door. The truck has only been sitting for a day and a half. I used my key to get in and for reasons I still can’t explain decided I should try to start the truck. My phone lit up with 17 notifications that someone was trying to steal my truck, but the battery was so dead I got no alarms or indications inside the truck except for the gauges on my dash jumping a little like the truck was trying to do something. Funny though, the truck doesn’t have enough power to do basically anything, but it still managed to send 17 warnings to my phone?

The battery is now on a charger, do I call the dealer? Do I replace my battery (agm worth it or just go flooded?). Do I delete the FordPass app? Is there something else I need to consider at this point?

If this is the first time this has happened I wouldn't freak out. My wife had this happen on her Leaf because the dome light was left on. I would check everything.

Your battery has the bed if it's an EFB. Go ask Ford for another battery, this time the AGM it should have come with.

Depending on the age of your battery do two things:
1. Replace that battery with a 3rd party AGM. Yes, you will have to bite the bullet, but believe me when I say you don't want a Motorcraft.
2. Pull the 5A Telematics fuse in position 11 of the under the glove box fuse compartment. All of us that have are seeing much better performance out of our batteries.

Let me rephrase.
Were you trying to unlock the truck at 7:05am?

Unlocking your locked Maverick using the key only, will set the alarm off.
There may not have been enough power to set the alarm off but there was enough to send messages to your phone.
Or
Did you jump start the truck around 8:00am
Couple months ago I used the key to open my truck. Just to see if it worked, the alarm went off and it also sent notifications to my phone like yours.

I strongly recommend a jump pack of some sort that can stay in the truck.

I've been running a $120 Weize AGM since December 2023 with no issues. This was after 2 Motorcraft enhanced flooded batteries crapped out in less than 2 years. I wouldn't say you need to spend $300 for an AGM battery. Imo, the best value AGM is the one from Walmart for about $170. You won't be spending $300 on it and you'll also have a real warranty, unlike my $120 battery bought online, which is practically not warrantied given I'm not shipping it back to them if it fails...

I highly recommend getting a 3rd party AGM battery. I paid $170 for an Interstate battery at Costco. I also changed my changed my charge level with ForScan to 95%. No problems since I made these changes!

Have no idea, but if I decide to get a new AGM battery it fits and is the best price.
