Ford Maverick alternator upgrades help.

I have a 2024 XL and had a custom box made with 2 10s and a 2300 amp. Had it tested and the amp pushes more but I have it down to only 1000 per sub basically. And the alternator does not hold after two songs. The volt meter starts to dip to 12 volts and sometime 11. Ive called around my area and no one makes a upgraded version even with the alternator that comes with the loaded model would be enough but not if you also add upgrades to your door speakers. It will start clipping the amp. I have been told my only other option is to add a form of a battery bank. Witch u really only can put that in the bed cause of space. I've done the big 3 and everything I could think of . So for now I'm running the system on half potential.

Seems like I remember Ford making some police interceptors with the 2.0 ecoboost at one point(explorer possibly). If that is true, you may be able to source an alternator from one of those and make it work. Another option may be finding a way to cram a bigger battery in the factory location by modifying it. Otherwise, the best move will be a battery isolator and second battery I'd think... I'm certainly no expert in this area though. I always did my stuff for pure SQ, and massive current draw has rarely been an issue for me.

Back in the day when I had a Del Sol(tiny battery), I installed a battery isolator and second battery in it with no issues. It never gave me any issues, but I was "only" drawing 150 amps on that system. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in soon.

What's a 2300 amp? There's a Maverick on here that has the bed full. Of subs and the rear cab. Might search around for him and ask if he needs a different alternator. Might be something wrong with your alt.

Some internet research to consider if you haven't already:
* stiffening capacitor
* higher amperage alternator rewind (I had this done on a prior car)

I've been through this with current-hungry amplifiers on a prior car. Got wise and most recently used class D amplification which is super efficient with much less of a current draw, even when being pushed hard. Selecting a very efficient subwoofer can also make the most of the power you have when it comes to output, see the sub build on page 4 of my build thread in my signature for more info.

others have covered almost everything, the only thing I would add is what's your power wiring and distribution look like? if you have undersized copper plated aluminum it's a big difference with a high current amp compared to using large pure copper.

I would call powermaster and see if they can make you something .
Or see if the 3.0 police interceptor alternator from the explorer has the same mounting and front pully spacing. The plugs should match if not , pigtails are usually available to adapt.
