CVF intercooler hose clamp help

Hey guys, been having trouble with what I think is a leak from the intercooler hose clamps. Attached pic is the driver side inlet pipe. I'm trying to figure out if the black plastic ring is in the correct orientation. That's the position it was in with the stock IC before it was removed, but my truck also had the whole front end off at the dealer a while back. After the IC install the truck seems to whistle a lot more...which might be normal but I doubt it. Thanks.

Guess nobody has run into this but just in case it happens to someone else I figured out a fix.

I pulled the cvf intercooler and hoses off and tried mounting the hoses back to the factory intercooler, and found out they fit way tighter. The hoses will rotate a little but they dont slide back and forth and wobble like they do on the cvf. Guessing it's a combination of the flanges being a little out of spec and ford's awful quick disconnect clamps.

So I didn't want to deal with sending this intercooler back since it is already the second one since the first had a defect, I ended up using t bolt clamps over the top of the factory clamps. I tightened the t bolt clamps just enough so the hoses would still rotate a little so I could get the IC in the truck, then tightened the shit out of them when the hoses were all in position. Got it all back together and went for a drive, truck no longer sounds like a turbo diesel and actually pulls hard.

Looking at installing one on my sons truck, any pics of how much you had to trim out of the bumper?

Not sure how well you can see from this picture but it a decent amount. Keep in mind there is a wiring harness on the passenger side that is right at the area you have to cut.

I dremeled out the vertical supports first, then went at the big horizontal section. After that, there is a hard edge around the lower section of the opening to cut. I followed that line up the sides and then blended it around the top trying to keep it as clean as possible. I then filed and sanded a bit and for the most part it looks factory.
