Again, the 2.0 in the 2025 is brand new to the Maverick so you cannot infer reliability from previous engines.What exactly is "wrong with this?" These are valid points that are gone off of observation and personal experience.
The 8F35 is the weak point in Maverick drivetrains - hybrids don't have the 8F35. The 2.0 GDI also has issues long term and those are well documented.
What you've seen for the hybrid are recalls for deep sleep, grabby brakes, but the reliability of the hybrid drivetrain overall is excellent.
You like the 2024s because they have physical HVAC buttons. That is the observation.
