Hello friends,
I'm still waiting to even get a build date on my 2023 Maverick. I did recieve an email from Ford that I've attached.
Since there is a good chance that my 2023 order is not fulfilled, I'm looking at 2024 options. I thought I'd heard that 2024 has an AWD hybrid option. I cant recall where I heard it...perhaps i was dreaming. But either way, i thought I'd ask here if anyone has heard anything.
Thanks in advance

Ford is taking away things this model year to simplify the maverick line up and cut costs. Hybrid AWD won’t happen until they release an all electric Maverick is my opinion, for what it’s worth, which may not be much haha

You have to avoid Youtube videos, product reviewers, etc. No 2024 hybrid AWD, no 2024 plug in hybrid, no 2024 ST, no 2024 electric. Maybe next year for the first, possibly second and third. But remember, when they add these higher cost options the price goes up and most are already outraged at the price increase of the hybrid.

They took hybrid from being $1,085 less than EcoBoost at launch to being $1,500 more than EB for 2024. That's a $2,585 price increase on the hybrid powertrain. That's their way of trying to decrease demand because they don't intend to build more. Raise price, reduce demand. So, why would they add an AWD option when that would increase demand?

You'll have to turn to Escape Hybrid AWD if you want a similar AWD Hybrid that badly, if you can find one.

Wishful thinking. Check in again when the MY26 is available as that would be when the Mav is due for a serious update.

And kind of off subject a little, but do you really need AWD? This is a compact, unibody, front-wheel drive truck. I suppose if your driveway is a half-mile long uphill dirt road, and you live where it snows a lot AWD might be a big deal but most of us are well served by the truck as it is.

But to get an Escape hybrid AWD you have to dole out a minimum $35,000 + destination.

$36,535 MSRP for the cheapest 2023 Escape Hybrid AWD at current pricing, yup... Wasn't really recommending it as a replacement for inexpensive Maverick builds.

Active is fleet-only for hybrids. ST-Line is FWD only for hybrids. Gotta bump up to the middle of the 3 ST-Lines, Select, to get a Hybrid AWD.

On Escape, Hybrid is now $3,000 more than the 1.5L EcoBoost, and $1,500 more than the 2.0L EcoBoost (latter being same as 2024 Maverick)... until you add the Tech Packs. Meaning that when you add options that are unrelated to the powertrain and that are highly profitable for Ford, the hybrid option gets even more expensive. It's just another way Ford is trying to discourage anyone from wanting to buy a hybrid.

Keep in mind that back when Ford actually wanted to try to sell hybrids, they priced it at or below the 2.0L EB. It was a big marketing point that the hybrid option was the same cost, particularly for Lincoln MKZ, IIRC.

ST-Line with Tech Pack #1 makes Hybrid $3,750 more than the 1.5L EB. If you wanted an ST-Line Select with Tech Pack #1 (the only option pack on that trim), you pay a $3,750 penalty for the hybrid option. That's a far cry from the $1,800 up-charge that it was a year and a half ago. Put differently, this means that Tech Pack #1 is $245 with 1.5L EB, $995 with hybrid. Really?

ST-Line Select with Tech Pack #2 makes hybrid $2,500 more than the 2.0L EB.
