I did consider the Weathertechs, I want to use my all weather floormats all the time. The Weathertechs, are more utilitarian (plain rubber) and are probably great during slush and mud season. I don't have that here. I guess if you've never seen the Tuxmats you would not know. They're just nicer IMO, clean up better from the reviews and now my opinion. Weathertechs were only cheaper if you got the fronts only. On top of that, shipping was included in the listed price on the Tuxmats.
I'm not sure why you'd assume I've not seen Tuxmats, but I have. I'm more for function over form, so I buy floor mats to protect my carpet more than to look down at my feet and admire. I don't believe that Tuxmats will protect my carpet better or last longer than WeatherTech, so I don't view them as a better investment. I was thinking the difference in price between the two full sets was only $30 or so with shipping, but maybe I was wrong. WeatherTech have always cleaned up just fine for me over the years, even through midwestern salt and mud. To each his own...

EDIT: I just priced WeatherTech 3-piece set vs. Tuxmat and WT are only $11 more expensive shipped to my door, so a 5% price difference.

Tonneaus: well, I don't want a five year solution, I want a one piece, solid, lightweight and strong (can stand on it and secure) cover. Nothing more than 50 pounds. Easily removable and something less likely to make the bed an oven. I know all this is a lot, but with today's materials, it should be available for just a 53 inch bed. I would be willing to pay premium pricing for all these features but not unreasonable. I really like the old fiberglass covers available for older Rangers, using today's materials something like that could be made with lightweight and insulating properties. Perhaps, there is not enough profit in it for a sellable price. Or maybe the manufacturers are just selling what they want you to buy so you have to replace it. To me the tonneau should last as long as the truck and I know some out there will, but like I said, I 'm seeking more than that.
Understood. There are plenty of American-made options that last much longer than 5 years and will support up to 400 pounds, weigh less than 50 lbs, are easily removable, but no they're not one piece. Yeah, one piece options aren't popular like they used to be. I think most people, myself included, value the ability to fold up and remove easily over being one piece these days, and the market will reflect the desire of the majority of buyers.

Any thoughts why the reversing system didn't save the door?

HRG
Yes - the light beam to reverse the door was set for 1 to 5 inches from the floor. The trailer step was probably 8-9-10 inches high so did not trigger the reversal of the door....I knew better but forgot to check after inserting the hitch step.

they are referring to the other auto reverse, all openers have them. if the door hits an object it's supposed to reverse.
most openers have a force adjustment at the motor.

JMHO, The tuxmats have much more/better coverage than any other mats I looked at.
As to the hitch cover, the Ford piece is not that hard to modify, and looks like it belongs there when installed.

Still haven't been able to find these on Amazon. Not sure if they ran out or what?
I kept the link handy & checked back a 3 or 4 times a day for a few days. Was able to place order (discounted) on the 8/22 w delivery 9/7-9/17. Delivery since updated to 9/5, now expected 9/4. Good luck!

The filler piece from the 7 to 4 pin looks bad on these. I’d rather do the more expensive version that is being sold by the member on here. Just my opinion.
I think this is the best looking. The measurements need to be spot on though

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, I, like a lot of members, don't have a Dremel, cut off wheel, jigsaw, the patience or the skill set.
I can measure something a half a dozen times and still not cut it correctly.
For me it's easier and less stressful to buy stuff that is ready made.

Thank you again take care.
