Oof... really takes the pep out of that HPR.

I guess it depends on what the insurance does, but I'd rather not drive a bumpy truck. A ding, a scratch, normal wear and tear or even an "oopsie"... but not an entire vehicle ruined by hail damage. Especially one in a color as hot as HPR. That color is designed to be flashy and shine.

If they do PDR, make sure you inspect the interior when they are done. We had an Impreza get caught in hail about 5 years ago and had PDR via insurance. The interior and trunk panels were all eff'd up.

I'd parked my car at the Calgary airport to go on a much needed vacation and came back to discover my truck had been pounded by a horrible hailstorm. After 4 hours on hold I finally got a claim started and now I'm playing the waiting game to get a damage estimate so I can find out whether insurance will cover repairs, total the truck or just hand me a cheque and tell me to get lost while they deal with the tens of thousands of other claims from this storm.
I FINALLY got the stereo installed and most of the smaller mods knocked off my list so this timing really sucks.

The hood is gone, roof is pretty bad and there are dings all over the upper half of the left side, front fender to the taillight, right fender has dings all over the top edge too.
Pardon the crappy videos, I was filming in the garage late at night after a few frosty adult beverages.

THAT sucks
that said have you a dent doctor near you?
I had some work done from them & they are magic
mind you it will take a bit of time but may be worth it & if they can get it done t wont go on carfax
this is just one I pulled up in the area

Sorry to say but thats totaled. This is the options the insurance will have but they tend not to say. Pay you and the loan off . They forget to tell you that you can buy back the truck with a rebuilt tittle from them with a substaintial savings if you don't mind all the dings, just something to consider I have been there before and bought out the vehicles , as stated if you can live with the dings,

If the insurance company pays you and you keep the truck, you will have money in your pocket and you won't be as worried about the next hail storm. . .
Maybe your gas mileage will go up . . . that type of surface helps golf balls fly farther than a smooth surface. . . enough of trying to be funny.
Hoping it somehow works out in your favor.

Oh man! That sucks! Really sorry this happened to your Mav.

I had a Jeep Compass that got hit with hail (mind you, not as bad as yours). I did the dent repair (similar to Dent Doctor) and it was pretty darn good. If you looked REAL CLOSE you could see where some of the dings were repaired, but from a short distance they were invisible. The shop covered my deductible (not sure if that was "legal" in CO?) so nothing out of pocket. It took about a week to get it back. That was June. In September (don't recall the year) we got nailed again. Rinse and repeat.

I really, really don't want to drive a vehicle with hail dents, but if my 2023 gets hit, I'll do the repair. If they total it, I'll look at buying it back from the insurance company vs. if it covers the loan.

I did so many of these claims it made me sick, you have to realize the insurance companies are swamped with calls and the appraisers can only do maybe 5/6 claims a day, I set up in a hospital parking lot for 3/4 days because that area got pounded with vehicles there was 4 of us and did 10 cars a day, in a case like this most company's bring in appraiser's from across the USA. when you have all the cars in one place it saves so much time. Am retired now and most companies are using PRO shops to write their own estimates and am sure there swamped too.
As for your damage the hood and fenders are easy to replace, the problem is the roof replacing the roof is costly, if it needs to be replaced, there is also paintless dent repair, the rear quarters are bolt on panels on the Maverick so they're not a big problem. It sounds like the whole vehicle will need to be painted, so it may be in your best interest to total the vehicle if they want to, if its fixed you will lose a lot money on a trade-in or any sale it will be reported the vehicle has been damaged. There are Mavericks on dealers lots now you should be able to find one or maybe get a 2025 that has a lot of upgrades...Good luck. Keep in mind if they total the vehicle and you buy it they will deduct the salvage value which will likely high on the maverick and in most states get a salvage title.

Insurance adjusters have a rough life, at least some do. My son who does residential and business claims, who I gave my 2018 Nissan pickup to had $9k hail check on it (Probably if repaired would have an additional $1-$2k supplemental) which I kept and gave truck to him. He had just received an assignment and needed truck immediately to carry a 28 foot extension ladder to collect the premium "high and steep" billing rate. He has been on his current assignment for 7 full months (7 days a week) with 3 days off! He averages around 40 claims in progress at any one time. If he has anything that requires truck downtime he will have to have replacement rolling within 3 days max.

I would say that is totaled. Take the check, if you can buy it back reasonable, put on liability insurance only & you have a very nice beater truck that you don't have to worry about anymore, & if insurance pays enough get a new one for your good vehicle.

Hate em hail storms. My F250 got beat up. Insurance stepped up, authorized repairs. Replaced hood, got inside of top, using bend bars to wriggle dimples out. Final was $2,200 + my deductible. Body shop did great job.

I would like a decent deal on a "hail damaged" Maverick. Get the truck totaled, buy it back from Ins. co. and I'll give you another $1,000. on top of the buy back offer unless you have a better idea?

I would take the $$$ pay the lender or keep $$$ if Truck paid for and Drive it!
I agree. What's more, the MPG may go up, just like a golf ball flies farther with dimples. You can tell everyone it's an option for Maverick only.

That looks a lot like the garbage can lid dent that hit mine when the wind flipped it up onto my car in the carport in Hawaii, I am so glad I have a garage now in New Mexico! I got a quote for $600US and thought I could live with it. I got a dent puller and that does not work on this metal😢.
