I'm curious , have ANY hybrid owners wore out , and replaced brake pads , and how many miles ?
I use the Brake Coach screen that, when enabled, pops up for a few seconds every time you come to a complete stop. It shows how much you used the regenerative braking, vs your friction brake pads, since the last time you stopped. Mine usually shows around 90% or more regen. So I'm not using the friction brakes much at all.

I expect I will have traded in, totaled the truck or died by the time this truck needs a brake job. That excludes brake fluid replacement, which should be done every 3 years, according to the manual.

The one problem I've had with my prius (maverick not built yet) is if I use regenerative braking too much in winter, road salt can rot the brake rotors in a few years. I've had to make sure to brake harder to keep the rotor surface clear of rust so rot doesn't take hold.

130000 mi on wifeys 2016 fusion energi PHEV. Brakes look new. Just checked last week when getting new tires. Not like her I said, as she has worn brakes on previous cars.

They can last the life of the truck, you, or 200,000 miles. Whichever comes first.

Also you don't need the brake coach feature.

The power needle is the same. Keep the needle in the green zone, not past 100% and you will regen 100%!

It's telling you the same info.
Also EV coach tells you the same info.

So there are 3 ways to monitor if you are using all regeneration or not.

Understand, but I have a short drive to work and was doing all I could to use regenerative braking, so my pads and rotors were being used very little most of winter. Salt plus iron (or mild steel) isn't a good mix for corrosion, thats not a myth (makes think of Toyota & "cablegate"). This was the only car I had this problem and it was all 4 wheels.

5 years of salt and you can't even tell.

Good warning to those who own hybrids in winter climates. Use your brakes a little more in lieu of saving a few miles per gallon on gas.
