Are you guys putting on ceramic pads? On a previous car I used ceramic up front and OEM stuff in the rear, the ceramic lasts twice as long with zero dust. Going forward it's all I'll ever use.
Does anyone make non rust rotors? Stainless, titanium, ???

Just had a rotate and balance and the rear brakes are shot at 50k, digging into the rotors. I am still a bit confused about this because I would expect the front brakes to wear down before the rear. The shop tech told me the Maverick is different than most vehicles.
Anyone have the same experience or input on this oddity?
Have seen this on the wife's Subie a 2010 and a 2019. Even my Honda 2013 CrZ. Was told its due to stability control causing the back brakes to work more. Far cry from when the back brakes lasted twice as long as the front.

Porsche does....$10K add on and 10K when they wear out. Maverick stopping distance from 100mph, under 50 feet. Drivers kidneys would hit the windshield during heavy braking.

$10,120

Are you driving very aggressively, and traction control is kicking on all the time? Because the hybrid uses regenerative braking almost all the time in normal driving, I expect the brakes to almost outlast the vehicle. Or are you driving around with your foot on the brake pedal? If you get into the friction brakes, it is normal for the rears to brake first, but wearing them out in 50k seems really early.

Brakes on my Escape Hybrid lasted 210,000 miles. 70% city

50,000 is short. For a hybrid.
In general.

But there will always be anomalies.
Wow. My wife's vehicle needs brakes about every 25 thousand miles, I would brag to her I can go 35 thousand miles on my vehicle.

Just had rears replaced on EB at about 40K miles. I brake conservatively. But my integrated trailer brake controller has an unresolved issue that I believe has worn the rear brakes faster than they should have been.

Does she brake with her left foot? Is she resting foot on brake pedal to be ready to push it sooner if needed. 25,000 common for that.

Sold my 2015 Prius with 84,000 miles. Still had 70% of pad life left on all four rotors. Issues sounds like it could be exclusive for the Maverick?

Learn to coast, my last four Prii, never had brake issues even after 135,000 miles, I fact the dealer that inspected the pads asked how long ago Id redone the brakes, like never.

The Mazda CX-5 tends to go through rear pads faster than the front. That was surprising to me as well.

Well, since we all know the rear pads seem to wear out faster than the front, I will be checking my real pads arournd the 30k mark. Cheaper, easier and faster to replace pads than both pads and rotors.

It's more common than one would think, it makes the abs more effective I the rear brakes are applied before th front. In my shop we have seen it in VW, GM, Toyota, Ford and so on
