My wife is very sensitive. My hybrid brakes are sensitive. I learned to live very well with my wife, and I am adjusting well to the hybrid brakes.
I was actually going to post a separate thread about how my wife is too sensitive! She also makes that PFFFT noise, but that turned out to be derision.

Reading your post and that explanation on the noise you hear, I know exactly what you're talking about. My wife has a 2015 Honda Accord hybrid, it's my first experience with a hybrid vehicles brakes. It makes that exact noise you describe.
I actually mess with her about it all the time. When we're at a stoplight, I gently release the brake a little bit until I start to hear it and drag it out as long as possible. It reverberates through the body, I hope it's not bad for the car lol.
It's definitely part of the regenerative braking. The Accords brakes are definitely much more sensitive than my old Silverados. I haven't had a chance to compare it to the Maverick yet, still on order...
Thanks, glad someone else here has noticed this noise before. I'll probably mention it when I bring the truck for the first oil change and see what they say. Thanks for the reassurance!
