No, it's just sad that anyone who wants an inexpensive truck and places an order must wait until those willing to pay the most get theirs first -- shouldn't it be first orders get first consideration? It's like telling them your hard-earned money isn't valued as much as another's.
scheduling hasn't changed. it's dealer allocation, dealer priority, then highest value truck they can build. been that way forever, this is not new.
Ford Pro wasn't selling Mavericks at the beginning. There is a lot more money in selling XL Mavericks to fleets rather than Jim Bob and Becky Sue. Not sure consumers would want Autozone and the City of Milwaukee to take precedent.

I have never found that competent dealers and manufacturers base decisions purely on front-end gross.
Ford pro wants to line up Ford credit for lease or financing, and sell telematics and maintenance plans. they certainly don't make more profit on only the truck than a retail sale.
You're totally right. It is about the "lifetime value of the customer" and not simply making money on a single unit.
Understand. But it's not likely you'll see this feature on Ford's cheapest truck line. US car companies have done this for decades; reserve some features for certain trim levels and reserve other features for certain models in their vehicle lineup.
Why the removed image?
Higher profit per unit, perhaps. But when a buyer wants 500 units, there is some value to that also. Guaranteed sales, one contract, no sales work, all the same options, less dispersed delivery.
