Why doesn’t Ford or a aftermarket company make a fog light insert ?

I long for the days when you could bolt on some aux fog lights, run wires to a relay under the hood, fused wire to the battery, and wires to a switch that you mounted in or under the dash. Simpler times.

But yeah, DD makes a nice kit though installation is a bit of work. And it's not compatible with the tow hooks of the FX4 or Tremor.
This can still be done !
People just seem to want to use factory switches or integrated plastic trimmed looking stuff !
Heck a pair of kc lights will bolt right through the plastic bumper cover and relays still wire up the same and switches can still get tek screwed to the bottom of the dash!
Just do it !

I should probably at least wait until my Maverick is here. :)

Better them than Lasfit.
Let me start with, at least LasFit recognize the problem and pulled them from the market 👍 and is offering refunds. Mabett ??? Has anybody actually talked to Mabett customer service?
I have LasFit cargo, third brake, back up lights and SWITCHBACK Front turn signals, which I absolutely love. With the headlights on turn signals are white, turn signals bright Amber.
Only problem I had was, one time in March, pre Ford updates.
I had hyper flashing on the left turn signal switchback. It was afternoon, I didn't know whether they were actually hyper flashing or whether it was just a dash indication.
It has not happened again.
Have a great weekend,

The Mavericks are foreign made vehicles and apparently the vehicle in the video was a better design that allows for easier installation of accessory lighting. The DD is not plug and play it is disassembling the front of the vehicle and installing the lights mounts, lights and wires. I looking for something that would be easy as a template for the bumper cut out and a light mount that would snap in place with wiring to plug into existing wiring. That’s what I consider a less complicated option for installing. But because Ford didn’t think ahead about adding fog lights it basically became a more complicated installation option than most owners would like to deal with. Similar with the cheap useless rear view mirror installed in the Maverick. But it can be replaced by using a cheap stock multi function Hyundai mirror. Ford screwed Maverick owners on that option also.
Cars made (assembled) in the USofA, Canada and Mexico are all considered North American made under CUSMA/ USMCA/ T-MEC (depending which country you live in or as it used to be known - NAFTA). A FORD (a predominately US company) designed the truck with parts (potentially) from all 3 N/A Countries, assembled in Mexico does not make the Maverick a foreign made vehicle.

What's stopping you from doing just that?

While I would have loved a more “factory finish” option for FX4, there’s definitely ways to add without taking apart the front end, dash, etc. Mine was as straight forward as it gets probably

While I understand that you are disappointed with the degree of work necessary... I will point out that the OEM foglight kits for my previous 09 Hondar CRV EX and 06 Nissan Frontier XE, both required removal of the front bumper to install the lights, as well as swapping out turn signal/light switch assemblies... The honda required cutting the bumber holes for the lights.

I really like that setup.

Edit - what kind are they? Are they wired in to go on with the headlights or separately?

Those last couple pictures with the switch on the steering column are your answer.

thanks!

They’re Diode Dynamics Stage Series 6” bars in SAE Amber. Wiring was stupid easy. One hole through the firewall gasket and it can run unobstructed to the steering column for the toggle switch. Plenty of room on there to run a step bit through and pop the switch in. I was done in under 2 hours easy.

Where are you drawing power from?

I'm guessing there is no relay in this circuit due to the low current draw od the LEDs?

im using the DD heavy duty single output, 2 pin harness that has a 12v relay and goes straight to the battery
