I like the convenience of using OBD to "hardwire" my dash cams because I don't like jumping fuses and the cable is easy to route from there. I was using an OBD USB charger that was manually switchable between 5 minutes or 24 hr. power after turning off the ignition. It worked OK but it wouldn't allow my dash cam to use the parking mode, which requires the three wire USB hardwire.
I stumbled across this unit on FleaBay, and it works flawlessly with dash cams and the USB hardwire.

You simply connect your hardwire cables to this adapter, and it will allow parking mode and all features of your dash cam to function, with battery voltage protection so your truck will start. These are the hardwire cables I used for my dash cam.

The adapter only uses three OBD pins to provide the necessary power, accessory and ground.
