From the posters responses, it sounds like it does not come on 2024 models. So maybe your dealer was correct for your model year, at least as far as he went.
I have a 2022 hybrid Lariat which does have one.
My 2024 Lariat has it.

Visited my Ford dealership (Davidson Ford of Clay, NY) and spoke with the Service Manager. He spent the time to look of the shop manual for a 2020 Escape and my 2024 Maverick (February build). He printed the page showing the glove box damper area on each and the Maverick does not show the damper. So, it looks to me like Ford decided to save .50 and eliminate it.

I also went to see the Ford Service Tech and the Parts Manager where I bought my Maverick. It seems Ford stopped installing the damper at a certain VIN. He checked my VIN and my Maverick did not come with the damper. I thought I could get the damper under warranty but no luck.

I gave up and ordered the damper. It is supposed to arrive on Friday. I am still confused how it mounts using the two lugs on top of the damper. What I understand from others in this Forum is that only the rear lug snaps to a peg located deep in the glove box compartment and the front lug does not hook to anything. Am I correct?

You are correct.
Here you go. I dropped my glove compartment to show you the connections.
The first picture is the lug at the end of the PISTON and the nipple that it's attached to on the drawer.

The second picture, is of the End Lug on the cylinder attached to the nipple inside the compartment.

Not much more I can do for you now.
Good luck.

The other lug is for a different vehicle. You can't use both of the lugs because the cylinder has to rotate somewhat.

Figured that was the case regarding at a certain VIN it stopped. My April 24 built 24 Lariat is missing it. I’m not going to install it. I rarely use it enough. But cheesy they left it out.

Can you post a direct link?
I’m still waiting for the part. The first company finally emailed me saying it was unavailable.

Broadway Truck has one being delivered Monday 7/1/24. It’s taking a while.

If I didn't know it was missing, I guess I don't really need it. 😬

I have the damper but have not installed it yet. I live near Sacramento, CA and it has been too hot to work on my Maverick.

Looking at the photo you posted for me, Is the lug/peg to mount the rear of the damper on the right side facing the glove box area opening?

2-minute job, if that.
In the pic, the smaller end (lower left) simply snaps over the post on the glove box. The larger end snaps over the post in the dash. Do the back part first. The small rod can be pulled out to reach the glove box post.

You made me feel guilty about not installing the damper yet.

I severed the heat and got it installed today. I had problems installing the rear lug on the post. I tried several things but was able to get the lug on the post using a pair of needle nose pliers to grip it firmly.

It did not come on my 2024 Lariat. I did not want to debate whether it should have. I suggested a plan to my dealer. I paid for the kit ($28 in Ford Pass Points) and my dealer is coming to my house (25 miles from the dealership) to install it free of charge. I remain pleased with my experience with Reineke Ford in Findlay, Ohio.
