I haven’t decided on drilling a hole or not. I have my wires tucked in at the side so not too many showing. I figured some would show either way so not point in drillingAlternatively, I decided not to drill new hole. I hot melted existing vent slots highlighted yellow below (3rd column ... centered - 4 spaces above and below):

Just posting another option for folks to think about.
Glad you said it all .... no point in me re-typing it ...I said I'd give a one month review.
The good:
1. It provides a wider view than a rearview mirror, so part of your blinds spots are visible.
2. It records automatically, unless you manually stop it. The files are each one minute long. The file name is the date and time, so it's very easy to find a video if you know the approximate time you're looking for.
3. Nighttime rearview visibility is vastly improved. It take the available light and amplifies the image so you can see incredible distances behind you clearly. Headlights behind you are filtered down so they don't interfere with that same long distance view.
4. The recordings are very high quality. 4k front and 2.5k rear.
5. Pleased with the install. Very discreet. Casual observers won't realize there are cameras.
The bad:
1. The LCD screen is VERY polished glass that reflects everything in the cab . . . like a TV screen reflecting lights in a bright room. Fortunately, Wolfbox offers a matte film custom cut to fit. I found it on Amazon. Installation was easy. Huge improvement. Problem solved.
2. In bright daylight, I wish the LCD screen was a bit brighter. I have it max'ed on brightness. Hmmm . . . just remembered I have the moonroof cover open. Will try closing that. Stay tuned. **UPDATE**: Closing the moonroof's cover definitely helped.
3. The rearview camera makes vehicles appear much further behind you than they actually are. I'll think, "There's plenty of room to change lanes," glance into the side mirror and realize that semi is way closer than I thought. I'm sure I'll get used to this.
4. Installation was kind of a pain. But I wanted every wire hidden.
Bottom line:
I love it. I will never have another vehicle without an LCD mirror. I feel safer. I drive a lot, so that's important to me. I'd definitely buy it again.
Note: I really bought this for the LCD "mirror." The fact that it records is just a bonus. A regular rearview mirror view filled with headrests and C-pillars was my motivation. The completely unobstructed rear view was what mattered to me.
For the fuse locations where there isn't room for a standard angle tap, I found these (the gold pieces in the photo):- Micro2 Fuse Taps were included, but won't fit in #3/#6 fuse location
The area around #3/#6 blocks use of 90 degree micro2 fuse taps (Thanks Ford).
Man!!! I love you guys for sharing all the headache avoidance opportunities you post. For the fuse locations where there isn't room for a standard angle tap, I found these (the gold pieces in the photo):

It's a simple metal fuse tab that slides over one of the fuse prongs that allows a spade connector to be attached. I bought these at a car show swap meet, but I think this might be it if a person wants to order some. They work great. You do need to then add a separate fuse inline on the new wire. More pics & detail can be found on page 6 of my build thread (link in my signature below).
It just pulls down. Four clips, see circled "sockets" in photo below. There is a YouTube video I watched that showed someone removing it. Just use a nylon auto prybar to carefully and slowly pry it from the glass. How did you remove this part?

For reference:
Just showing where i fished from the (passenger side) inside "C" pillar to the 3rd Brake light,
That is "C" pillar with the rear speaker grill removed. The top picture with the yellow highlight. Where exactly is that? I can't figure that out. Picture is to close to get a good view. Thank you in advance.
War Eagle! Nice mod!Video samples, front and rear. File sizes are limited, so a 5-second front clip @4k and a 20-second rear clip (downgraded from 2.5k to 1080p by my editing software).
Both cameras record continuously after the truck is switched on, unless you manually stop them. The files are arranged very logically in folders, with the date and time stamp as the name. Each MP4 file is one minute long.
I have the front camera recording in 4k (max setting). The rear camera is in 2.5k (max setting). The GPS coordinates, speed, and date/time stamp are embedded in the lower left of each video.
For those cringing at the automatic car wash, it was a first. I've handwashed for six weeks and know I can't sustain it (I'm old and grumpy). I was relieved the automatic car wash didn't move my rear camera position setting.
What cmhsl is that? This is where I ended up placing my rear view camera.
