Well, depending upon where you live and how much salt is spread on the roads in winter, your mileage may vary.

Big difference in build quality between a Mav and one of those older Tacos.

I'll keep my Maverick until one day before the warranty expires.
I'll determine whether I keep mine in year 3. If it's trouble free, I'll keep driving it. If not, it gets replaced. By this method, the last vehicle I had to get rid of was the 2001 Sport Trac. Too many weeks in the service bay with warranty issues.

I'd hoped this would be the last truck but if it continues to have issues......we have two more long camps, one west to Little Rock Ark area and one North to Cleveland OH area, the Mav will be 2 years old end of Sept, with about 30K on it.

There is nothing comparable to it so I'm hoping that they've fixed the dying on the middle of interstate 95 in rush hour traffic, the suspect engine fires, the PCM & LMNOP modules not taking to the other modules, never had a computer issue in 4 PRI or the Camry Hybrid that wifey bought last year, 14 great Toyota years, 20 iffy Maverick months so far but there is nothing that compares to the Maverick's flexibility, when all the stars and Moon align in the galaxy and the little buggar is running right.

I was used to getting a new car every 4k working for a dealership, I also kept my personal car/ truck mostly truck that sat in my driveway that I traded in when the warranty was up lots of them with less than 10k dealers would fight to get my 3 year old truck with 10k on them, But those days are over, I also broke my biggest rule, NEVER BUY A FIRST YEAR VEHICLE. So we will see how this little truck holes up so far LOVE it, my only problem so far is the radio I don't consider radio issues a big thing but for first time driving in 56 years I bought a extended warranty. Am retired now The average new car price being around 50k and not making the big bucks anymore am likely to keep my loaded 22 XLT FX4 having its 2nd birthday in a few weeks with 10k on it for a long time.

Pretty much the same except the radio works great.

I'm in my 70's now. A while ago I said "This will be my last new car". That was five new vehicles ago...
