They are NOT required by LAW to do recalls. You can refuse all recalls until the end of time as long as you are the OWNER of the vehicle. Even though you don't pay for the recalls to get done, the ford techs still get paid for doing the recalls...

Still, recalls are worth getting done in most cases! I would say the OP should get them done and a new battery!! That should fix his MAVs problems
There is no law but there are contracts dealer to manufacture. As well as stated in most warranty coverage that you are reasonable for getting recalls preformed in a timely manner and refusing a repair can void warranty. Your dealer may refuse you service. We did all recalls it was in are intake agreement to ok a simple check out. don't sign and your car sits. I don't know about around you but around me it can take weeks to get in to any shop. They don't need or want to deal with "that guys" repairs.

Yeah that just sounds like bad service from a dealer. Whether you get recalls done or not that should not affect you being able to get your 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k service. OR YOUR WARRANTY. There is no reason for that. There are 3000 ford dealerships in the USA and a whole lot more independent shops. If you have a problem with me saying no to a recall, I can just go somewhere else.

I thought Most find dropping your car at the dealer and getting all warranty repairs and recalls preformed with out having to think about it good service.

But If you don't want to address safety recalls or repairs I don't want to work on it. Not safe for me. Sound like the Ram guy that wont get his frag bomb replaced because that sweet 2003 is all original.

Some dealers have mobile service and some are not set up for it.

I can't even read and understand what you're saying man. Most people are fine with recalls but if someone doesn't want it, you can't do anything about that buddy. Tell Ford to stop messing up their recalls or get it right the first time. No one would have a problem with the recalls if they fixed the problems and didn't cause more problems. No one can force you to get recalls on a vehicle that you OWN.

OP, you are asking two questions. (1) Does Ford have a fix figured out? The answer seems to be yes. (2) Do I trust my dealer's service department to implement that fix properly? Anybody in this forum who says they can answer #2 for you is full of it.
