At some point, I wonder if anyone will get the bright idea that electricity does not (yet) come primarily from environmentally perfect sources, so BEVs should have a KWH/mi standard too. If you include the environmental damage from all sources in the lifetime of a vehicle, BEVs don't look so great either. A good first step would be to revamp the CAFE standards to promote smaller vehicles.
I just saw a 32 month old wind turbine sling a blade off in heavy wind and chop it's tower in the middle and the flaming generator cabin falling to the ground. The poor landowner will no longer get his monthly check for his production share. The personal property taxes will no longer be paid to the taxing entities after the first of January.

BEVs are usually much more efficient to the point that even relatively inefficient designs are more efficient than ICEVs by a long shot . Plus the grid is getting greener continuously. Actually BEVs are worse environmentally to manufacture but become cleaner over their lifetime. I agree on your last sentence

When I bought my 'new 79 Chevy C10 single cab, 8' bed, it was cheaper than a nicely equipped family sedan or station wagon of that time. It was also a lot more utilitarian than my '19 F150 was.

I take 3 ladies with me in my Maverick every Friday night to go dancing in a town 40 miles each way. Nobody has complained about room yet. I get between 35 and 40 mpg on that trip too! Ecoboost AWD and 4K Tow.

I'd like to know how you get that gas mileage. ;)
Funny for me to see this comment today... I've wondered about ecoboost owners claiming mpg significantly higher than the published ratings, too. Last week I had to go across the state, about 125 miles on highways, and decided to check my own mpg. Well, guess what? My ecoboost Maverick did 38.2 mpg! And that was calculated by me at the pump. The mpg value displayed on the Maverick was about 36, btw.

How did I do it? Just kept my foot out of it as much as possible and drove the speed limits (mostly 70).

Yea, we have several threads on this topic already. An inconvenient fact for the BEV haters on this forum, and they are legion, is that BEVs are likely to rescue truly small trucks (a category that does not include the Maverick) from the EPA.
Also an inconvenient fact for fact for BEV and hybrid lovers is their battery systems are causing across the board auto insurance increases because of the high costs associated with repairing or replacing them. Regardless of how reliable those systems actually are the actuaries still have to factor in a percentage of them having problems and in turn have to spread that risk across the whole insurance pool.

MPG's like that are largely dependent on outside temp, distance traveled, amount of stopping and speed then yes you can easily beat the published numbers. More mixed driving the more that number will over time average closer to the published numbers.

The cluster gas mileage estimates tend to be off in the main once you break in the truck. You can adjust the bias for it in the cluster by putting it into engineering test mode. There are threads on the forum for how to do it and the math formulas used to adjust the bias.

I know this was a 15 mile trip on I 35 at 65 mph most of the time. Obviously when I get in stop and go traffic that drops a lot. I cannot fake what the display showes.
