Funny for me to see this comment today... I've wondered about ecoboost owners claiming mpg significantly higher than the published ratings, too. Last week I had to go across the state, about 125 miles on highways, and decided to check my own mpg. Well, guess what? My ecoboost Maverick did...
I understand how you feel. I was thinking that way, too.
But, I was concerned about any future repercussions that might arise (in case of an accident) from refusing the air bag recall.
I had quite a bit of hail damage on my Maverick last spring. Nothing big but lots of little dents. Paintless dent removal was amazing. I'd challenge anybody to find a ding, and original paint job was preserved.
My dealer says they are awaiting parts. Ford's recall site says parts should be available 1/23, but that has passed. So I'll be looking for some sort of update.
We own a 2021 Forester that we picked up about a year ago. We really like it, although I am not in love with the CVT as opposed to the sweet 8-speed in the Maverick. Averaging around 30 mpg. Traded a 2017 F-150 screw for the Maverick. It was a nice truck but mpg sucked and it seemed to grow...
Put this one on my Maverick about a month ago...

Seems to work fine, but not much rain yet.
Looks pretty good in the pics.
That's got to be one of the highest mileage Mavericks around. Would be interesting to hear how things held up through all those miles.
