Im gonna just say this has the 2.3. Intercooler looks a touch more prominent to me. Its too easy of a swap. Also the grill is far more open than current grills. That more air, more cooling. For a reason. Wouldnt mind seeing 4k towing turn into 5k towing. Tremor spec on the refresh could be brought up to 4k standards with a bigger grill and larger cooling capacity.

Wouldn’t you just have to aim it differently? I feel like I’ve seen vehicles with them mounted low like that….
I could be mistaken though
Wait isn’t Bronco Sport mounted low?
Ok just looked it up, it’s mounted in the same area BUT the cover looks the same as the test mule
My Continental has the radar stuff mounted in the lower valence and offset to one side, they just aim the sensor a little differently to suit the location on the vehicle. And they're behind some pretty tough black plastic too, tougher than the paint around it... Shockingly effective in nasty winter conditions to boot. The engineers know what they're doing... haha

Sure hope it is a false photo to throw us off. UGLY Regarding the dash we have a 2023 Escape for my wife as well as my 2023 Maverick. You get used to the full electronics after a while but I really do like the Maverick better.

I Love, love, LOVE! the bigger screen!! At first glance not a fan of the new grille. Maybe it'll look better in context. I really like the current grille.

I change settings by feel. With the screen, there is no tactile guidance.
Exactly. With physical controls, I can reach down and adjust the fan or temp without taking my eyes off the road. Not so with a gd touch-screen+menus.

I have considered ordering a '25; but if the HVAC will be downgraded from physical, tactile knobs to on-screen controls, my '23 will be the end of new Mavericks for me.

I spy extra steering wheel buttons with red text. Are they moving the drive mode selector? Or is it something else?

I wish they would put the drive mode where the Lane keep button is, on the turn signal stalk. I never use lane keep.

Im not sure what I think about the grill. gives off a kind of older lincoln feel...yet seeing most of the ford line has similarities/styling cues across the vehicles...this seems to completely stand apart from any vehicle ford has...i could be wrong, but any other ford vehicle/trim have a mostly/all vertical grill to it?
I was thinking maybe that's part of the camouflage, hard to tell

What would be the difference if it’s on the screen or controlled by knobs? You are still taking your eyes off the road.
Because you can physically feel a knob, learn its exact placement on the dash with a little time and thus locate & operate it with just a glance. Try that on a screen .

Hoping one day I can swap out the small screen/useless cubby for the nice 13” screen on my ‘23 Hybrid 🤞🤞

Agreed. It looks like hell. And is the truck itself a little more aerodynamic or am I just reading too much into the side pics?
It does look like the front end leans back a little. Not a fan of that - I like my truck to look like a truck.

Are those chrome handles, or is it just a lighting trick from the paint color? I know I'm in the minority, but having more chrome is a wishlist item for me.

We just got our first look at a revealing new Maverick Lobo performance street truck prototype showing off a completely new grille design with a clean vertical slat arrangement in addition to a new infotainment screen interior upgrade.

All New Grille Design Finally Shows Itself
These shots not only show us what promises to be a new Maverick trim, it gives us our first uncovered look at its new grille design—our first such look at one of the updated Maverick prototypes. With the camo mesh removed from the grille-opening, we see a completely new take on the face of the Maverick. From this test truck, it appears that the new street truck will have the Ford oval floating amid a sea vertical grille slats that bend forward at the bottom, reaching out to its revised front bumper. It’s a complete departure from anything currently available in the Maverick lineup.

We know this is the new street truck trim- rumored to be called Lobo, based on Ford trademark filings—thanks to its new, larger wheel-and-tire package. Instead of the 18-inch wheels that top the current Maverick range, this new model gets a chunky new design, sized at 19-inches—wrapped by 225/55R19 Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT tires. Whether this street truck—which could also conceivably get an ST designation—gets more power, is currently unknown.

13.2-inch Infotainment Screen
We also have the only look at the key element of the Maverick’s revised interior design: It’s new-and-improved infotainment screen. It looks like the Maverick will be getting the same screen upgrade that’s coming on the similarly facelifted Bronco Sport—the 13.2-inch landscape-oriented screen that’s also found in the base Mustang and the upper-level trims of the Ford Escape. It’s a big step up from the humble eight-inch screen that currently resides in all Mavericks—regardless of the trim level.

The Maverick looks slated to get a thorough going-over, in order to keep it atop the compact pickup market. Currently the Hyundai Santa Cruz is its only competition, but there are rumblings that Toyota has eyes on the burgeoning segment—with evidence of benchmark tests of the Ford and Hyundai. With that in mind, Ford is smart to keep the hammer down to keep a strong hold on the top spot.

All I want is the bigger screen! I like the rest of my Maverick the way it is appearance-wise.

a

Who needs a 13.2” screen in a vehicle. Even the current 8” screen is overkill.
You don't need it, but if it's just filling that little cubby hole to the right then I would be okay with it. It's nice to have for Google maps, especially once across the age of 50
