There are multiple posts here about Mavericks getting rear ended.....maybe taillights not working could be the cause in some of these accidents ??

Tail lights and brake lights are 2 different things. Brake lights aren't having any problems ,for now any way .

Doesn’t surprise me about anymore recalls. I have open recalls w/o fixes on my ‘22 hybrid Escape. The hybrid Maverick and Escape are the first two Ford vehicles we’ve had since the early ‘90’s. It’s safe to say that I won’t buy anymore Ford products after these two. Going back to either a Honda or a Toyota. I don’t really need a truck anymore since I’m not building anymore raised bed garden boxes due to having lumbar and cervical spine surgeries in ‘22 and ‘23, and another lumbar spine surgery scheduled for 10 May on L3-L5.

I ain't getting nothing TOUCHED by my local dealer until I read that Ford has fixed the issue with trucks going into limp mode after this supposed fix. No way, no how. Nope. I'll wait it out. My only vehicle and a crappy local service department, I can't afford to have it bricked.
I am taking mine in for oil change. I already said don't do the recalls. They called me reminding me of my appointment. Rep said oil change and recall. I said no recalls just oil. Saturday I will have to tell them again.

someone created a poll a month or two ago, and my recollection is that quite a few hybrid owners who had the recall done have been fine.
Others said shortly after they did have issues with loss of power. I will wait until I have a definite problem. If it's not broken don't fix it.

Im not getting any recalls done unless my truck has problems. I never trust the dealerships. Their Techs are forced to work as fast as possible and by doing that, mistakes are made. I just saw someone post that a dealership bricked their BCM module trying to Flash Software Updates/Recalls. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
I agree with you 100%

yes rick, I want to be clear that *absolutely* some hybrid owners have issues with this recall that reflashes the ECU & BCM. just not all.

but I would not do this recall now unless you absolutely have to. I just had my ecoboost truck serviced today and explicitly said do not do this recall. someone else can beta test Ford's code. 😉

Exactly. Unless I am getting DTCs from the taillights, I am not getting this recall..

Dealer called to set up an appointment to fix. Set for Wednesday morning in my driveway. I'll let you know in the unlikely event the recall causes my truck to burst into flames.
