Collision assist not working

Hi my collision assist has never come on. I got a hybrid lariat back in January and have had a few close calls and has never alerted me or assisted in stopping.
Has anyone experienced this issue. My other cars always beep and screen light up, this one hasn't.
Twice a homeless person ran in front of me that I had to slam the brakes and never even came on. Cars have cut me off or I have gotten close and never comes on. The acc works great, which I don't understand. I checked setting and have reset them multiple times. One of the reasons I got the lariat is for that reason. On my ascent it saved my wife from an accident but I don't trust this truck to do the same.

Does your adaptive cruise control slow when you come up on a slower vehicle?

No, two separate occasions, we have allot of homeless in California. Once the guy came from the opposite side of traffic between the stopped cars but eastbound it was moving. The other time the guy ran to the middle of the street then back.

Yeah the adaptive cruise control does slow down, it hasn't had to stop yet. But the collision assist hasn't ever come on. Even my wife noticed and I set the setting to high.

I was just making a funny before, lol. I assumed they weren't the same person.

Anyways, since your adaptive cruise works too, I'm not sure what to recommend. It seems the systems that do the sensing, braking and steering are working, otherwise, so??

Both my 2023 and my wife's 2024 work. Both Lariats with 360 and 360 assist. When someone in front of me turns off, and I get closer than it likes before their turn is completed, I get the big red screen saying pre-collision alert. I've only gotten it twice in over a year, and my wife just got it last week after 3 months of driving. Scared her. She said there is a setting for low, normal and high...and she said hers was on normal. I have not verified that.

This thing definitely works in my truck. The whole cabin goes into a Star Trek Red alert, the music shuts off, Dash is flashing at me like its the end of the world...............nearly had a heart attack!! Happens whenever someone cuts in front of me. Not a fan of this feature.

I didn't realize the system was supposed to work with pedestrians, but per the owner's manual, it definitely says it does.

I have triggered "red" warnings twice on freeways since I bought my truck, so for whatever it's worth, mine (without CP360/ACC) works fine, apparently.

No reasonable way for an owner to test this system that I know of, so if you are concerned, I'd get it checked out by a dealer.

I've had more false positives, warnings when nothing was even close, than actual potential collision warnings. My eyeballs work far better than it, needless to say.

Yeah I get that allot on the Subaru and Kia, they'll come on when you have plenty of time. But not on the maverick.

I have mine set to high sensitivity and get about one alert a month including when cars cut in front of me. One thing to check is to be sure the camera (in the windshield I believe) is clear, so wash windshield at each fill.

Me: 2024 hybrid Lariat [CP360+CP360 Assist]. My forward collision is set to the most sensitive setting - never sounds when I expect it to. I want it to work like the rear cross-traffic alert.

It went off a couple of times when I didn't expect or need it to.

The dash roadway graphic that turns from green to amber to red alert is useless. Why would I be looking down there?

I have not tried my adaptive cruise control yet. Not a fan of cruise in general because mentally I want to remain engaged in driving.

For 25 years I regularly drove 250 miles of a 400 mile trip on [mostly] 2 lane I-395 in the Owens Valley and didn't use cruise.

In my other vehicles w/distinct gears I back off the power rather than let cruise control maintain speed by downshift on inclines or downhill Just my driving style.

But I do enjoy driving my Mav. One day I'll go EV but unlikely I will ever go for an autonomous driving vehicle or summon one.

What you can do is put a big piece of tall cardboard on the street and drive towards it. It should stop that’s what I did to see if mine worked
