Wouldn't it make more sense to purchase this Ford ESP AFTER the initial warranty has expired? I can't understand the concept of double warrantying your vehicle.

Here’s the deal - sure it makes sense from the BUYER’s point of view. The problem is that it doesn’t make sense from the SELLER’s point of view, and the Seller controls the buying experience. What this thread is talking about is the insurance that the dealer tries to sell you when you buy. There is usually no or very little time after you leave the dealership to buy it. That’s the Las Vegas aspect of insurance - when you buy it you’re gambling that you will need it and they seller is gambling that you won’t. They won’t sell it to you three years later when you need it, they would loose that gamble too often. It’s like pre-existing conditions and health insurance, nobody used to sell it to you when you needed it, they would loose that bet too often. Finally, when you ask about double warranting, the buyer really is not double warranting - that policy you buy when you buy the car kicks in after the factory one expires.Wouldn't it make more sense to purchase this Ford ESP AFTER the initial warranty has expired? You can usually only buy a manufacturer warranty while it's still under the bumper to bumper unless it's something like a CPO. And the price increases as the vehicle gets closer to the end of that original warranty.Wouldn't it make more sense to purchase this Ford ESP AFTER the initial warranty has expired? But I thought Ford had a few dealers that sold them online cheaper AND you can buy them up until the end date (not over) at that same price? The names were Flood and Ziegler Ford. Here’s the deal - sure it makes sense from the BUYER’s point of view. I got an extended warranty at 60 month 100k miles bumper to bumper. For my at 20k a year is worth the warrantyIn addition to other points made, there's also the fact that at 20k miles per year of driving for that person, the warranty will be less than 2 years long for them because of the 36k mile cap.
It appears you may be a salesman of some sort. In your case, I agree.....I’m going to say that it depends. I will more than likely get one because I drive about 20k miles a year and do 99% city driving and turn Off and On the motor About 20x a day. For my circumstances I believe it’s worth it.
I have a 2014 Focus ST 2.0 turbo with 56k + miles and I've never had to do anything to the engine or 6 speed manual transmission. Do you know if I have dual injection? I may trade for a Maverick...Yes. Shop around first. Why? I have the 2.0 motor in my 2013 focus st, and its one of the few Ecoboost motors that doesn't sport dual injection. Carbon buildup is real. I've had to do it around every 25k for the focus and it's gonna be due soon at 66k.
Last time they did the service they ended up busting the exhaust manifold while trying to extract a stubborn bolt, and had to replace it wholesale, turbo and all. Still have the pics.
It was all under the ESP, and no way I could currently afford so much work from a dealer again.
I get several calls a week trying to sell me an extended warranty on my 2014 Focus St...I was told by Geico that if i wanted the warranty i had to take it from the start.

I just had the dreaded TCM go on my 2012 Ford Focus and the part is backordered for possibly months...waiting to see what they can do on rental coverage. I would be happy to just get my new Maverick delivered earlyI get several calls a week trying to sell me an extended warranty on my 2014 Focus St...
