Hey guys and gals,

So my wife and I decided that it would be best for our family to downsize from our 2020 crewmax tundra to the new maverick. As you all know the tundra’s mpg is around 13-14 in the city. And that’s my only complaint about the truck! I’m currently leasing and its lease is up in February which I can extend another 6 months if need be. We plan on getting the lariat fx4 with the 4K tow package. My question is, if you had to choose between carbonized gray or black, which one would you choose? Thanks!

Right there with you, bought a tundra last year and while I like the truck, I grew up with rancheros. It's a bit big but mostly? The mpg is terrible. If the Maverick would have been available I would have bought that.

I did the math and the Maverick pays for it's self in gas savings alone.

To me it would come down to how much time you can spend keeping it clean and how comfortable you are with a little visible dirt. When clean, there’s not much sharper than black but it shows dirt and swirling quickly. The grey is definitely a step down in both those categories. I have two black cars but spend a good amount of time keeping them clean.

Yeah I did the math, so to buy out my lease if I extended another 6 months and I put $7,500 down on a 72 month loan at 3% APR with sales tax, my month to month would be $479 which I think is still too high. With this maverick on a lease (I want to lease it because it’s a brand new model) 12k miles a year, 36 month, with $5,000 down it would be $388 a month. Which includes the lariat trim, fx4 package, 4K tow package, lariat luxury package, hard tonneau tri fold, bed extender, and floor liners!! Not to mention the fuel savings I’ll be seeing! No brainer to me

Most cars on the road are either black or white. Also they look so dirty unless you stay on top of cleaning.

Take the reds, man. Take the reds.
Don't take the reds. Spouse and I each have one ordered. We don't need the competition.

You know it's a bad idea to put money down on a lease beyond enough to cover things like doc and TTL, right?

I got the XL in Carb Gray. I test drove a velocity blue and kind of want the Carb Gray to blend with the gray plastic handles, XL trim, etc. Also plan on 20% tints and eventually replacing wheels with black ones from a ranger.

Black was my other option though. So I don't think you can go wrong in my book.

I understand what you’re saying, but at the end of the lease term, it still goes towards the payoff amount / residual if I choose to buy it out.

I have cactus gray ordered and wife has area 51 ordered. The Cactus has lux pkg (heated bun warming seat) and I wanted to not be getting in wrong one. We need a "How many did you sign order for, not reserved" survey. So are we competing?
