Well...Since the first time I read about the Mav I wanted a hybrid. I already owned a trouble free Fusion Energi, so I ordered a hybrid XLT during the short order window for the '23 from my dinky small town dealer. Still haven't received a VIN or schedule date after all this time. Rolled into a '24 hybrid Lariat, since I have the $3400 rollover offer... why wouldn't you?... and still waiting.

Long story longer... I picked up a 6k mile '22 hybrid XLT lux back in early Feb from a dealer 4 hours away and have been happy with it for the most part, but really wanting the Lariat bells and whistles. Recently I have been seeing post after post of issues with hybrids, and have noticed a couple minor glitches with mine that haven't warranted a trip to the dealer service department for a look see and not wanting any recalls applied when I am not having any serious issues currently, but getting a little worried about what the out of warranty world will be like. I started researching and decided to make the change before my roll over schedules (plus it may help it schedule sooner) to go with the Ecoboost instead. I added 4k to the order as well, so hopefully my Carbonized Gray Lariat with moon roof and BAP will eventually happen.

Anyone regret getting the Eco that had a hybrid or vice versa?

Since you already have a Mav why not wait for the refreshed model this year?

Tempting, but I would lose the $3400 rollover offer, if I cancel the current order, and I doubt my current hybrid order would continue to get pushed out and rolled into a '25.

You also gave up a lot (mostly gas) by switching.

If you drive mostly over 55 MPH the switch won't hurt too much.

If you are mostly slow speed / in town, it's going to hurt a lot more.

🤷🏻‍♂️

I think you will like the EB fine. I will never compete with a hybrid on gas mileage, but I am feeding mine 91 octane and the thing scoots. With that Lariat you will still have the 400W inverter and a lot of nice goodies.

In full disclosure, I never considered a hybrid at all, but even if it is a vocal minority, it is heartbreaking to see all the folks with issues and concerns. Hopefully Ford will do right by everyone before they all get scared off.

If your getting a non hybrid I doubt it's 3400 savings. Because the 2024 model year made the ecoboost standard.

That being said best of luck with your order. Also the 4k tow package I thought was only available with the AWD which you didn't mention in the original post.

Personally think it's a much better configuration 2.0, lariat, AWD, BAP and 4k tow package.

I have an Eco XLT and only wanted a non hybrid. I owned a Camry hybrid and it was a great vehicle, but in the back of my mind, I always thought I shouldn't stay too long with the vehicle. Way to much money to repair.

Buying a vehicle is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

I will say that I would place my bets longevity wise on a 4 cylinder eco than something that has a battery. Once the battery goes, so does the vehicle.

I've considered it and I drive about 80% interstate and only 20% stop and go. We live 30 miles from a big city and 2 miles off the interstate. I'm also a lead foot and run 80-85 most of the time. Most trips I average 30-31 in my hybrid. I do like the smooth quiet take offs from traffic lights, but the power of the Eco will make me forget it quickly.

The roll over offer is solely based on what you had ordered in '23 and the XLT hybrid orders received the highest amount as it saw the largest price increase from '23 to '24. You can change the order to whatever Mav configuration you want and still get the same amount.

As for my order configuration...for '24 the Lariat comes standard with the Eco and AWD. It also includes the Copilot 360 and 360+ that were all separate on the '22 and '23. They essentially come loaded with all options with the sunroof, BAP, and 4k tow being the only things you can add, which I have added all of.

All you are missing is the FX4. The rear suspension is much stronger I believe

The only vehicle I've ever regretted getting was my Escape Hybrid for all the reasons you see commonly on these forums. My EB has been trouble free so far, but I think overall it's a roll of the dice right now with any FORD vehicle as they seem to still not have post COVID production figured out not to mention the software issues currently going around. I don't trust recall work on these Mavericks. EB or Hybrid. I will say though, if someone makes an AWD Hybrid version like a Maverick, I'm all in. Until then, keeping what I have as it's under warranty. At this rate any vehicle I get and keep beyond the factory warranty is getting an extended warranty. For me currently it's all about AWD and the price range. Nothing is reliable anymore. So, roll your dice and enjoy your new truck.

Yes I agree. Still better than the hybrid FWD which I was referring to. Than again I guess it depends on personal preference. I do like your thinking.

No regrets getting the EB. Not taking anything away from the Hybrid at all, but it was very important to me to have the AWD with the FX/4 package and the independent rear suspension and mono shocks. All of which is unavailable with the hybrid.

One big surprise for me was how capable I have found the Pirelli Scorpion tires to be as a road tire. While not outstanding, I would rate them decent in the snow, very good against hydroplaning and quiet and smooth on dry pavement.

My Lariat Azure Gray Hybrid with BAP that I had ordered just arrived today at the dealer. I turned it down and he was happy as he he doesn’t have any Mavs in stock.
