Update: yep, the issue is brushing the lock tab next to the door handle as I exit the truck. I'll have to train myself to make sure it's unlocked if I intend to reenter it shortly. Carry on, nothing to see here. 😏

I often leave Steve Trucklet running when I stop at the mailbox kiosk and when I try to reenter the truck, the driver's door is locked. The first time it happened I had a brief panic attack...it's only a half-mile walk home to pick up the spare keyfob, so I wasn't that worried...but I tried the left rear door and it wasn't locked. That's...odd to me. Since that first time it's happened randomly over the first month of ownership, so I thought I'd ask the hivemind here: has this ever happened to you? Is it an 'known issue' or have I inadvertently broken new ground? [insert melodramatic theme music here]

When I get out, obviously the door is not locked and yet when I return and try to open the door a minute or so later it's locked itself. The truck is 'on' and transmission in park...I know the left rear door is not locked but haven't thought to check the other doors to see what state of locked/unlocked they're in...so I'll do that the next time it occurs.
this happened to me once so far and I believe there is an auto lock setting controllable through the cluster menu ->vehicle settings-> locks. If it is not there I might look for a way in forscan to disable this!

Could also be in intelligent access if you have that feature.

I was thinking the same thing, though I don't want to defeat the autolocking feature to resolve this...it would disturb the budding relationship between Steve and my spouse, who is still getting used to having a hybrid vehicle in the household.

In both my 2022 EB Lariat and 2024 Lariat hybrid I had the driver's door lock while each vehicle was off and had been sitting parked in my garage overnight. Possibly I hit the lock button on the driver's door b/c it happened after I had opened the door once???

The rear door did not lock, just the driver's door. When my Mav is parked in my garage, I do leave the keyfob in the vehicle. Maybe that caused it? However, I have never been able to duplicate it and it only occured once or twice.

This happened to me also, then figured out that I was bumping the lock on the door as I was getting out. Which locked the door of course. But all other doors were unlocked. My tip to everyone is watch that you don't accidentally hit the door lock inside when getting out. There is no settings to stop it.

This only happens with some people. Its because we all hold our hand a little different while opening the door. I have to watch how I open the door, since I’m one of the people this was not made for. I lock the driver door all of the time unless I watch how I open the door.

This sort of thing is why I like the keypad unlock feature on my C pillar. I'm absentminded and it's way too easy for me to lock myself out at a remote trail. One bit of advice to anyone using this feature. Test that it works before you need it...

I have TRIED to "accidentally" lock the door when exiting, there is just no way that my hand goes anywhere near the driver's door lock...

The small piece of plastic just behind the drivers door handle is very easy to push into the lock position when you’re opening the door from inside. Believe me I do it all the time. It doesn’t bother me anymore because I understand what is happening. It took me quite a while to figure what I was doing wrong.

In two years of ownership I've never had that happen, some levers must be stiffer than others, I have to give quite a push on that little lever to engage the lock...

Hope you have the keypad. However, if you have the proximity keyless and the keys in your pocket, no prob. Done this in my Lariat

No biggie, the other doors are staying unlocked but now that I see why it happens on the drivers door, I'll get used to looking at the lock lever position when I get out of the truck.
