A tiny little bit of filler and touch up paint and it will look much better.

Back in the old days, vent windows and flared pull up lock buttons. Made things a whole lot easier and you didn't mess up the paint.

Concur, it wouldn't make sense to try an break in in the most subtle of ways and not damage anything else or the interior trim. Yeah it's a long shot but i figure i don't have anything to lose by contacting the dealer about it. The touch up route , multiple single drops is what i plan to do - i suppose the ford OEM stuff is probably the best. There is some damage to the matte vinyl trim but it's subtle enough that i think i can reheat it and make it disappear. If I wanted to break into a car, I'd just smash the window and grab what was inside; not jimmy the door frame.
There could be a million reasons for what caused the marks (something at the assembly plant when testing the vehicle, something when loading the vehicle onto transport truck, etc).
But one thing's for sure, you'll have a hard time convincing the dealer that it was Ford's fault.
Ebay has a few options for touch up paint. I personally prefer the water base products over the lacquer type. Easier to apply and has a longer self-life. Also, I believe it is the same type of paint used at the factory. Color match is very good. "SCRATCHES HAPPEN" is the one I used.Haha mid day and with a Bronco Sport patrolling the parking lot haha.
I'm going to see if the dealer helps me out but if not ... I was going to need a touch up pen sooner or later. Any recs?
From the results of using, lacquer-base touchup paint. I believe a true color match is with the same, formula (water-based)...Ebay has a few options for touch up paint.
